Re: TRUMPER "SPECIAL SCALP LOTION" AND "SPECIAL L
Isis smells fairly similar to Amber Floreka, a bit lighter though (could be the age). The real winner for me was Fernil -- very similar to English Fern but closer to the shaving soap/talc/cream rather than the cologne -- sadly it's only about 50ml left in the bottle.

Re: TRUMPER "SPECIAL SCALP LOTION" AND "SPECIAL L
Lovely! It was always the old Eucris Hair Lotion for me (although as a well-shaken aftershave application rather than as a hair oil). I find it a bit sad that no modern shavers have any idea how very well they may moisturise and scent their shaven faces with a properly shaken mixture of mere minera...

Re: TRUMPER "SPECIAL SCALP LOTION" AND "SPECIAL L
I'm sorry for resurrecting this ancient thread but I recently stumbled across a bottle of the Lazy Scalp on Ebay, unfortunately, someone else bought it (I hope someone on here bought it instead) but I managed to score a bottle of vintage Isis and San Remo hair lotions. https://i.ibb.co/R0wsYt8/s-l16...

Re: COVID survivors
Sweden hasn't had Europes lowest nor highest deaths rate by covid but we do have a higher number of deaths compared to our neighbouring countries but the situation is probably more complex than that, Sweden had, for example, an unusual low death rate of influenza caused deaths in 2018 and 2019 and p...

Re: COVID survivors
I was doubtful about even writing a comment in this thread, anyway... I'm happy that Sweden has chosen a more reasonable approach to the pandemic, compared to other countries, in my opinion, quite tyrannical restrictions on peoples freedom. We have not had any lockdowns and most people don't wear an...

Re: Acquisitions thread
My recent haul: https://i.ibb.co/8xJ2FNf/20201208-095728.jpg For some bizarre reason, I've recently gotten more and more interested in the collecting of rare empty fragrance/hairdressing bottles (mostly from the British firms, like Penhaligon and Trumper), like, for example, this quite rare old Trum...

Re: My recent Trumper's Almond
It is not just Trumper's. After having had problems with pots of cream from the British merchants, I decided to stick with tubes. I have never had a problem with tubes. They are more costly, but the tubes protect the product. Ken Yeah, I have had problems with Truefitts cream in pots as well. I'm g...

Razor: Vintage Gillette
Blade: Astra
Soap: Trumper's Almond Shaving Soap (tallow)
Brush: Simpson Commodore x3
Post Shave: Floris Bay Rum
Trumper's Almond Shaving soap has become my favourite in terms of scent out of all the other Trumper soaps.

Re: My recent Trumper's Almond
I haven't had this issue again on any new pots from Trumper that I've bought -- that the text on the lid getting all smeared out that is. But I'm getting really sick and tired of another problem, which is when I'm opening a new pot of shaving cream -- this problem doesn't seem to be limited to Trump...

Re: Vintage Hammam - first impression
This is such a fascinating scent. I really like it. Wasn't it Gordon who said that this was worn by the recent Kings of England during their coronation? I guess that would have been Edward VII and George VI? Who knows? it's got a really pleasant scent though. Chris I highly recommend that you read ...

Welcome to SMF! I've seen some earlier recommendations in various other threads here on SMF for Kent Bk4 and for it to be quite good as a beginner's brush and I agree, it has been working ace for me anyways!

https://i.imgur.com/QxX0Xec.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rFB6Cdx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ia8mtvq.jpg I bought yet another empty perfume/hair lotion bottle and yes, I know, it's getting quite silly. ;) The bottle apparently contained Truefitt's Athenian water (as to be seen on the text at the bottom of t...
