Re: Vintage Hammam - first impression

Thank you both for the help! Your absolutely right - its not a full glass stopper but a stopper which lower part is plastic, same as yours probably! I will try the rubber gloves but I doubt that it would be much of a help because the stopper is really stuck in there. The refrigerator-trick was somet...

Re: Vintage Hammam - first impression

Does anyone have any tips for opening a stuck glass stopper? I could open the bottle before but I'm having trouble opening it now... Ive tried to put it in the fridge for awhile but with no result.

Vintage Hammam - first impression

Ive been lucky enough to snag a vintage bottle of this stuff, a 100ml splash bottle with two royal appointments and not the one with only one (an earlier version I think). I do not have the most advanced nose but I thought it smelled rather similar to TOBS 74 Original, which maybe isn't that weird a...

Re: Penhaligon's Aftershave Splashes Discontinued?

Thanks, something to think about! I do wonder if those colourful Portuguese-themed bottles (2004-2009 i think) would be better than the current one as well.

Alright thanks, I have to keep looking then! The new design on Floris bottles is nicer now though (not as nice as older, older), the label is better looking than those rather plain one.

Re: BB 1818 replacement

Isn't TOBS Sandalwood quite similar to 1818? I haven't smelled 1818 yet but thats what Ive read - nevertheless TOBS make a really good cologne.

Re:

Perhaps a little off the subject, but I just managed to get a vintage bottle of Penhaligon's Lords splash aftershave. One of my favorite scents. http://i.imgur.com/qm6kruO.jpg Another vintage question from me, I hope you don't mind! Do you know how vintage Lords compare with the current Dour...

Re: Vintage 89

Yes, I agree! that version would probably be ideal but those are rather hard to get by unfortunately. I'm thinking though that the bottle in my picture would perhaps be slightly better than the very current version? Didn't Floris reformulate no 89 again just a few years ago, around 2010 when many ot...

Vintage 89

Regarding Floris 89. I have a bottle of the current version of 89 but I'm a bit curious how the old vintage version smelled like... How long back do one have to go to find a "better" version?

Would a bottle like this one be sufficient?

Re: Floris Vetiver discontinued?

I just want to vent a little. I had purchased a reasonable priced Floris Vetiver from Ebay and I was eagerly awaiting its arrival but I was just given the tracking no and to my shock Royal Mail had ceased the goods and destroyed it "accordingly", dangerous goods they say... First time for me that th...

Whats the story behind that aftershave from St James Perfumery? Is it somehow related to the current St James of London (est. 2013)?

Trumper Skye

I haven't had the chance to try this one yet and after reading some post on here it has intrigued me but the cologne doesn't seem to be highly regarded over at Basenotes for example where many describe it as a failed attempt from Trumper to create their version of a modern "aquatic, marine" type fra...
