Re: Futur Problem Update

For those of you interested, the repair to my Futur was very simple. I will explain the process. The razor consists of 5 parts: Blade Cap Blade holder (part broken) Spring Head Handle To disassemble you press firmly down on the blade holder easing spring tension to unscrew the handle. The razor is n...

Re: Futur Problem

I guess this is a common problem after years of use. Merkur was very helpful in providing me with info on how to repair. The website www.techichishave.com has the part for $21

Futur Problem

I went to change the blade on my Futur yesterday. I pulled off the cap and removed the blade, I then heard a sound like a pin dropping. Sure enough, in the sink was a thin steel rod. Looking at the razor I saw another bar and a place where the one that dropped was supposed to go. I cannot get it bac...

Re: Cobra Revisited

I have been using my Cobra for a year now and love it. I alternate with a Vision DE. I easily get 6 or 7 shaves on a blade and so close that I shave every other day. Contrary to most I find the razor to be of sleek modern design and like the larger head. It really plows through the rough stuff

Re: Merkur Vision being made

Very cool video. I have an older Vision and was surprised to see the many steps that go into making it. No wonder the cost is what it is

Magnifying Mirror

My wife has a wall mounted mirror that she uses for makeup etc. This morning I flipped it over to find the mirror on the other side magnifies. I used it to shave today and have to say it really helped to find missed spots or ones not close. Don't know what the magnifying factor is but I like the res...

I have'nt used Harris cream in years. Not for any particular reason. Mostly I use Taylors but having seen this post I checked out a few suppliers and see that Harris is nearly twice the price of Taylors. Is it really that much better?

My Vision is 9 years old and I take it apart completely once a year and brush it clean (i use a brush that came with an old electric razor. short bristles fairly stiff) using warm water. I wipe it after every shave and when changing blades if soap is built up I'll use a toothpick to clear some of it...

I've had the Cobra for about 6 weeks and I think it is a great shaver. I alternate with My Vision. This morning after using the Cobra I noticed the letters GALCO (i think) Does anyone know who GALCO is? I no there is a GALCO that makes holsters. I read somewhere that the razor was made for Classic, ...

My Vision is 6-7 years old and I rarely "clean it" except when changing blades and only the head. I have a brush with short fairly stiff bristles to wipe out the soap scum and thats it. I have taken it apart with no difficulty and I dont see any plastic parts except maybe at the end where ...

See now I'm just the opposite. I have the Futur and Vision and they are both fine products. I, however give the edge to the Vision due to the longer handle and the knob on the end that helps with the grip and prevents slipping. Now to add some mud. I have gone through 2 blades (about 12 shaves) on m...

Roosters Pre Shave Oil

Theres a barber shop here in CT. that is called Roosters. Not sure if it is a chain or not. They offer shaves and someone gave me a gift certificate so I tried a shave. It was ok done with a gillette 5 blade, many steamed towels and cold towels. One of the things used was a pre shave oil that has eu...

The scent I got was Sicilian Lime and I thought it was great Definitely had a strong smell of lime that faded quickly after the shave was done. I'm not a fan of Sandalwood by anybody and can't speak about ginger beer either.

Vulfix Shave Cream

When I ordered my Cobra razor from Classic I also ordered a tub of Vulfix cream just to try it. I am impressed; the cream lathers very thick and rich plus theres a slickness to it that helps glide the razor. I suppose the slickness comes from added glycerin. I would bet the cream is made by someone ...

Thanks. Seems like a better shave is had without the guard. I have no complaints at all about the professional.

I am not familiar with Kai blades but will check them out at some point

I recently got the Cobra and love it as much as my Vision and Futur. I don't understand the difference between the professional blades and the pro guard.

Mine came with the professional blades and they seem to be fine. Other then the pricing this is a fine razor
