This saving money line is to be used only when SWMBO senses that you are spending a lot of money. Explain the cost of double edge razor blades when compared to cartridges. Suffer total memory loss when asked about the cost of brushes and English shaving cream.

PHS1; Glycerin based soaps tend to be of the softer variety. Colonel Conk, Vander Hagen, Em's Place and Classic Shaving Soap come to mind. Triple-milled soaps are typically hard. Truefitt and Hill, Trumper and D. R. Harris are a just few brands. In general terms, the softer the soaps are less expens...

I would like to be more helpful. However, your question cannot be answered without more information, as there is no standard soap cake. In general terms, the softer the cake, the more you use for a shave and the shorter the shelf life. The standard response with a question such as this is your milag...

Steve,
Contact Merkur (Dovo) at the following e-mail address:

dovostahlw@aol.com

You can also do a web search for their home page. Their products have a 10 year warranty. If you purchased the razor new and have the receipt, it is possible that they will repair or replace the razor.

Mo, That would be correct. I live in the Central Valley of California. To my knowledge there is only one source for Trumper's that is less than a three hour's drive from my house. Trumper's is the only English shave cream or soap that is sold in this area. A tub of cream retails for $33.95 plus sale...

Mo, I am going to assume that the price of the shave cream you sniffed was significantly higher in price than a similar on-line purchase. I will gladly pay the higher local price as long as I get to examine the merchandise. I can't understand why a clerk in an upper crust retail store would scold a ...

Ouch, If you have ready access to a Costco, they are a good source for Sensor Excell blades. However, the amount you must purchase is rather high. I think the package contains 20 cartridges. Target and Wal Mart charge about $8.00 for a package of five. Razors Direct is an internet concern. They do n...

ScottS is right. It is all about shelf space. I think most new products on the grocery store shelves are released just to maintain or expand shelf space. As wet shavers, we are a very small segment of the shaving products market. If you use a shaving cream or soap that requires a brush, don't think ...

Erik, I have the Merkur razor handle that is designed for the Trac II cartridge. The adaptor for the Sensor cartridge works fine when you snap on the cartridge and when you shave. However, it is difficult to remove the cartridge when it requires replacement. On the occasion when I use a Sensor cartr...

As I recall you have previously mentioned the Tracer/Diamond shavers. I have tried to locate the handles without success. Do you have any leads on where to acquire the handles?

I think that if you are using a shave cream or shave soap that requires a pre-shave treatment you should find an another cream or soap. It does not make sense to me to pay $25 to $30 for a tub of shave cream and then have to use a pre-shave treatment.

Does your Wilkinson razor look anything like this one? It is a Merkur brand being sold by Colonel Conk. Before we all run out to buy this one, Colonel Conk is out of stock. They are selling it for $9.00.
