I'm curious to hear our resident experts' thoughts on using a WaterPik to clean out the ear canal...at low pressure, of course. I remember, as a child, that my pediatrician used a WaterPik to clean out my ears. As I reflect on it today, it seemed very effective. The nurse put a little olive oil in a...

Is the fountain pen worth the hassle for a lefty? I had a brief foray into them and it was an ink-smeared mess. I have been very happy with my Meisterstuck rollerball, but fountain pens have always fascinated me. While I'm not left-handed, I'm sure that any nib customizer could fix you right up. I'...

What do you pen guys think of the vanishing tip fountain pens? Do they leak? I'd imagine not, but I saw some online during my penquest and thought I'd ask the experts. Thanks again. -Tye I love mine. Like Chris, I have several different "innards," but favor the broad cursive italic that c...

I do use a Rotring 600 rollerball when I'm not using my Namiki Vanishing Point. The thing is so heavy, it's a weapon. I'm surprised the deputies let me into the courts with it! For rollerball refills (affordable or otherwise), I've yet to find anything as good as Schneider TopBall 850s. Years ago, I...

Re: Watches, watches, watches (caution: modem burner)

Hmm, that looks like a Surefire L2 - you a flashaholic too? I'm a budding LED lover, not up to SF yet, though. Flashaholic? Yes...and no. Thankfully, I've only bought the one, and that's good enough for now. You're right...it is a Surefire L2 LumaMax. I love that it has a two-stage switch that lets...

I couldn't resist! :D (although it doesn't look like the same bottle I put in)

To complete the gag, I should've thrown in the Norelco Shaver that I haven't used since returning to wetshaving 2 years ago.

Thanks all. I think the black Ball Engineer is my favorite (it has tritium vial markers and hands, so it will glow for 25 years without me having to "charge" it under a light). I think WAD is more appropriate than WIS (Watch Idiot Savant), the term coined by the watch forum guys. Ichabod, ...

Watches, watches, watches (caution: modem burner)

I should have focused on wetshaving supplies only. Pens and watches are much too taxing on the budget. [Why has this OT thread not appeared on my radar before?] I have been using a Namiki Vanishing Point (the thinner, previous version, not that fatter current version) for four years now and love it. I replaced the factory nibs with medium stub and cursive italic nibs from John Mottishaw at "nibs...

I have been on CPAP for 2 years now, and it has helped me immensely! I haven't had that constant need to take a nap. With the arrival of my memory foam bed (Tempur-pedic quality, but no Tempur-pedic price), I'm in sleep heaven now! I used a DeVilbiss 9001 for a year with Mallinkrodt nasal pillows (I...

I've been using CAR's stuff for a month now (exception: I've been using "DaCube" for two years..can you tell I like it?). I started with the Hydrolast Shaving Paste and Moisturizer in Peppermint. Like some others here, I found it to be too minty and tingly, and sold it on the Sales and Tra...

Randy, I just got an e-mail from Sara today. She's been out for a week or so and I suspect that she's just now responding to last week's orders and e-mails.

You're not alone. After several months of great success with a Merkur Slantbar DE, I switched back to a Mach3 last month simply for the speed. (It's heresy, I know, but I also tried a Fusion for a 4-cartridge cycle, with great success) Every other part of my shave routine is straight RMWS technique....

Dave, Presuming that you're using a mirror in your shower, you likely will have better success (or at least an easier go of it) if you just swipe a wet finger or two a couple of times over a bar of soap (preferrably wet) and then wipe it on the mirror. After a few tries I'll bet you'll end up with n...

Ichabod, With writing like that, you should start your own shaving 'blog. All you have to learn is to call you face "puss" every 150 words. I too have been very happy too with my Feather blades. I use them in both my long handled Classic and slant bar. They really require my focused attent...

I use a cheap suction cup Walmart (or was it Target?) 5x mirror stuck to the shower wall. Immediately before each shave, I just swipe a couple fingers over a bar of soap and wipe it on the mirror. The mirror stays fog free for the duration of the shave. The light film of soap does not diminish the q...

The science behind the Fusion is as they state in the commercial (assuming you use the same amount of force with the M3 as you do with the Fusion). In other words, a force divided equally over three blades is going to be higher on each blade than that same force divided equally over five blades. Ma...
