As I wrote in another Ikon thread, I'm hoping to like this razor because the aesthetics and craftsmanship are so appealing--but it's tough so far. I was in a rush this morning and decided to forgo the challenge of the Ikon and picked up my Merkur 38c. It was almost like I wasn't shaving--just glided...

I'm shaving with a Kai in my Ikon. I just had to tighten it well to get the blade down into position. Haven't tried to remove it yet, so that may be a problem down the road.

Just an FYI. I ordered an Ikon Bulldog and received maybe 10 days later. It was well-packaged and even came with a pack of Feathers (though I don't dare use them in it). It is beautiful, but I was disappointed that it was not the spindle-style as pictured in this thread which is what I thought I was...

I'm using a Kai in my new Ikon Bulldog. Just coming up on a week shaving everyday. The first day I was sure I'd have to sell the thing. I felt like I was just scraping my face horribly--painful. By day four, I was having an easier time, but still feeling like this thing is too aggressive for me. Thi...

Around 3-5 minutes. I shave in the shower. I often skip a brush, just put a little cream on my cheeks and then, believe it or not, I use my goatee sort of like a brush for the rest of the cream. It sounds funny, but the cream lathers beautifully in a few seconds. I do two passes (down and sideways) ...

The handle from my Feather travel razor, bought from Pauldog, fits the head of my little Gillette travel razor. The Feather handle isn't real long, especially compared to my new 38c, but it's about 3/4 of an inch longer. Until I got my 38c, I used that Feather almost every day. I bought a Gillette l...

Eagle Creek. I've had their gear for years now and nothing seems to hold up as well, for the price, and weight.

I've only recently acquired both an old Gillette travel razor--very tiny, and one of the Feathers from Pauldog. I bought the Feather for a razor to use most days in the shower, something I didn't have to worry about getting gunked up or staying wet. It shaves pretty well--not as nicely as the Gillet...

Hi Gordon,

Do please give me some recommendations for a nice lavender scented cream. What would you suggest?

I recognize that Taylors describes their Sandalwood as a blend, but if you are going to call it Sandalwood I think that should be at least a significant presence in the scent. This stuff really doesn't smell at all of sandalwood. That said, it doesn't smell bad--I rather like it actually. It has a v...

Thanks for the replies. The cream is a very light, opalescent brown. I know $14 isn't so much. I may post it in the For Sale forum, but I sort of feel like the vendor should do something. When I wrote to them their only reply was to inform me that Taylor's does not smell strongly and recommended ano...

Taylor's Sandlawood....at least theoretically

Hi all, Just decided to give up on my Mach3 and go with a real razor--actually my grandfather's old Gillette. Ordered some blades and a tub of Taylor's sandalwood cream online. Upon arrival I opened the box and opened the tub of shaving cream expecting the wonderful scent of sandalwood to waft out. ...
