The KMF thread made me think of this: Does anyone use a latte cup or bowl in the shower to make lather before applying it, or are most like me, making lather from the brush directly on the face? Sam Yeah, it's the last thing I do in the shower. My cup is in there filled with warm water and my brush...

Is there a reason for this apart from curiousity? Well.....no....not really.... But it's actully my DE that's to blame....Its handle is banged up in a way that seemed not possible by dropping, packing in a suitcase, etc. And...it looks like someone had pliers around it. And, because I...

woohooooo! :D I've been working on dissecting this '51 but think I will need a custom tool if I want to put it back together. I have found that with the butterfly doors down the handle can be turned clockwise to separate it from the head of the razor. But that just exposes the inner shaft a b...

How do I disassemble a DE SS?
Does anyone have a guide for how to do this? I've noticed the screwhead located inside the TTO knob, but do not recognize the pattern to match an appropriate tool for it.
Thanks much,

That's really great for her. I am very happy to see a potter making work that's so successful. I don't think people realize how much time and energy goes into making pots. I've been a ceramics student at a local college for about five years now. Given the volume she's been getting from here, she's p...

beard line burn
I was gonna ask a similar question. I started using my new red tip model SS yesterday. It shaves even better than then black tip one I started with. When I first started with the DEs, my face looked fine. No redness, bumps or obvious irritation. But it felt "tight" and "dry." Tha...

A little of both...
In my M3 days, quickly fading from my memory, ;) I used to shave in the shower. When I moved to the DE I moved shaving to the sink while still doing the prep work in the shower. I take my mug, cream and brush into the shower. I fill the mug with hot water and set it behind the curtain with the brush...

I used my recently acquired (and near-mint) 1957 Superspeed with the super jumbo chunky heavy duty handle and red tip the other day. Damn fine shaver. Just shaved this morning with one of these! It arrived in the mail yesterday. It's a '56 and shaves even better than my '51. Ben is right, the handl...

Hey Moses, Another newbie here...been wetshaving with a cartridge for a long time but just switched to a DE last week. I've received some great advice here which has really helped. Regarding your questions: 1) Can't help, I have a goatee... 2) Everyone here said to get Proraso cream or soap from Tar...

Jeff, LMAO when I saw your Avatar.....That soooo explains why I ended up here and shaving with a DE. Too funny.... :D But also you've managed to tap into my secret fears and have revealed the hidden secret behind all of the DE razor acquisition: one always needs a good backup razor, functional, but ...

I think that's great! I'm still too busy learning and experimenting with razors and the basics of shaving with a DE but am *really* looking forward to experimenting with soaps and creams; especially the tweak-it-for-yourself experiments. Chris had suggested adding bentonite clay earlier in this thre...
