The legend goes that there is a crate full of Coates Lavender & Rose hidden somewhere in the mountainous regions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I wish you much luck, sir. Actually, it is hidden in my closet. Although mostly I have Tea Tree. Thinking of posting some for sale, although don't r...

I once bought the Oriental Woody and was surprised to find it a hard soap, not a cream, despite the name. Is yours actually a cream? Indeed. I was immediately wondering the same thing. It's not a bad hard soap, but definitely hard. I don't know where the idea of calling it "cream" came fr...

I really REALLY want a Chubby 2 knot in a slightly overweight PJ3 handle.

And no, do NOT bloody tell me to get a Polo. The thing is a new level of ugly, and there is no way that handle fits in my hand like a PJ3. Besides, it is too long.

My personal opinion is that if you honestly like scrubby, Rooney Super is not going to do it for you. I think a Rooney small Finest would be ideal, but that's too expensive. Otherwise, a Duke 3, probably? Not sure about the pure hair, though - no experience, and haven't seen much.

I think it really depends on what you are looking for. Gordon confirms my understanding that the Polo is pretty much like the Chubby, except longer in handle. (Btw, you mentioned ruling it out based on size? Do you mean that you don't like the long handle? Because it is available in a huge range of ...

I have a Chubby 2 Super and absolutely love it. Three band. I think a Two-band would be exceedingly scrubby. Good choice.

Well, for soaps, I've not tried MWF, but I find Honeybee soaps head and shoulders above any other soap in this department. And most creams as well.

For creams.... Hmmm.... Cremo Cream actually comes to mind. If you don't mind the pina colada scent. Also, Floris.

Probably because they are the US distributor.

I've developed a sudden urge to overthrow the government...

No, I've not joined a subversive organization. I'm not even voting for Ron Paul. But I seem to have fallen for an anarchist. Caron L'Anarchiste, to be specific. I've never seen a single mention of this stuff here. But I got a sample with a batch of samples I ordered recently from The Perfumed Court....

For the MWF, don't forget the Kent ebay option, if you don't insist on a fancy ceramic bowl.

For a simple quick and easy way, I often sit my bowl in the sink of hot water while shaving. With the right bowl, it works great. You need either a fairly tall and heavy mug that will sit stable on the bottom when there is enough water in the sink to shave with, or a bowl that is stable enough float...

Sam, I thought the Aldens were not available in your size? At any rate, I think those are nice, although if it were me, I would get the dark cherry full grain, because I'm not a fan of suede so much. I think either those or the Quoddies would look good with jeans, although, for the Quoddies, I would...

It seems that if you live near a city of some size you have a decent shot at a C&E store, AOS store, or a Nordstrom's (which usually carries T&T and Castle Forbes, right?). Otherwise, brick-and-mortar-wise, it seems you are pretty much SOL, for the good stuff.

Just a thought on the "not to drying" thing. I think the idea of how moisturizing or drying a cream or soap is, is a bit overblown frequently. Honestly, I don't think there is a significant difference for 90% of the products we talk about here. There are a rare couple that are a little ext...
