Dave, nice job, as always. The rounded corners are very attractive. These handles are pretty light, and with the quick-drying synthetic knot, this could be an excellent travel brush - maybe my next project.

After a thorough washing, a test hand-lathering, and 4 face-lathering real shaves, I think it's settled into its final form: http://www.numoonus.com/Shave/Brushes/Aramis/Aramis_Bloomed_c1.jpg I would have thought that a 19mm knot was pretty small, but this brush picks up and lays down a lot of soap....

I'm lucky to have received a PIF'ed Kent T12, which measures 30 x 58 by my calipers. I use it every couple of months, and when it's the right choice for the morning, it can't be beat. I'm also lucky to have won a Wee Scott in one of Phil's early contests. It lives in my travel kit. I never use it at...

Aramis Brush Refurb
Awhile ago I picked up what I thought was a nice looking brush handle on The Bay. I see why nobody bid against me, because the knot was obviously in poor shape. http://www.numoonus.com/Shave/Brushes/Aramis/Old_Knot.jpg The brush was made for Aramis, no indication of the date: any speculation would b...

I get two very comfortable shaves out of the Greens before they crash like an alkaline battery - abrupt and utter failure (I say they go West on me, because I'm in California). This trait makes Greens annoying to use at home, but they shine on short business trips. I'm on a two shave trip right now ...

Today's Eclipse
Did anybody else enjoy today's annular eclipse? I was pretty excited about it. I found a NASA PDF to tell me the exact timings here, and I embraced my inner 3rd grader and made a pinhole projection device. Soon after the eclipse started I made my wife come out in the backyard and look at my dumb pin...

I'm totally on board with this project, because I too prefer soaps to creams: no right or wrong, just personal preference. For example, my tub of RazoRock Classic is now a pleasure to use, ever since I left it open on the fireplace mantel for several months last fall and winter. It's about as hard a...
