Funny how Canadians get when their dollar is doing well...a bit smug I would say.

Very different ingredient list than the Coates, CF, and Shaving Gallery creams in my rotation but....I love it! Great lather & muted scents in the lavender, violet & rose. This Tryphon gent appears to have a winner here.

Tried it all. A long way around a good shave. The after shave conditioner is very good and something to consider. I prefer the Shaving Gallery, Castle Forbes creams & the Martin De Candre semi hard soap.

Dan's right as is Murray. Love the CF at the moment but felt that 'itch' again. I just received some of the Shaving Gallery stuff out of suburban Atlanta made by Creightons (but who knows now) and it is as good as ever. Same consistency as the old London stuff...no gooey wet type product Harris and ...

Don't forget the Shaving Gallery out of suburban Atlanta. A Creighton cream whatever that means these days. A Citrus note...and the new batch I just received looks and acts like the old so who knows. Taylors sounds promising...like going back to the warm confines of family than those stuffy Harris t...

I agree with everything Chris has said and although pricey the fast free shipping is a plus. There were past comparisions with the Harris aftershave milk but this is a different product altogether. An equal product to the a/s balm is Perry Gastis' Eye Gel imo.

Still my favorite handle. Great looking brush. Love my 3 and 4. The T3 combined with a soap (Harris or Martin De Candre) is my perfect companion.

Ah, Martin De Candre. A moment I will not forget. Thanks to Chris' hard work I discovered it when he first mentioned it some time ago now. Bernard is right in that it can act as both a soap and cream but I do see it much more as a soap. Takes quite a bit of time to dry out after use but a great, lar...

You will love it. The Harris almond is a great soap which I have been using of late in a deep and wide cereal or soup bowl with the flat side down (thanks again Gordon). Combined with a Chubby 3 brush I can get a larger scent than in the bowls Harris provides. Not that I use that large Chubby much a...

Chris, I use a half pump, close to what Richard applies. Maybe try a bit less to see if you get the same post shave result. That's interesting...Perry gets 5 weeks. Guessing I may be able to get two months worth. Gordon is right on the old milk lasting about four months though.

Don't forget those wonderful Gillette blades produced in Sweden. They cut a tough beard as well as a feather imo. I have forgotten at the moment but there is a pharmacy (web site) in the UK that ships them within 10 days or so.

Dave, Gordon is right in the Coates was a unique product. TSG tea tree/limes smells not of tea tree or limes, more of a citrus scent actually. In fact I think the tea tree is used as a preservative in this cream.

The ingredient list for the MWF and Harris Almond seem quite long and complex. Trumpers Coconut (shave soap base, toilet soap base, fragrance, edta, titanium dioxide, color) pales in comparision but the lather and shave produced seems on par with the other two if one works it a bit. Just think we al...

Gordon, Thanks for the heads up. We were going to take a drive down to the Vermont Country store this weekend for the Vinolia and other sundries. I think I may pick a new route now. Well Gordon at least the Vermont Country store is still selling the Vinolia as of late. I will enjoy those last few tubes of the Coates limes more than usual I guess. Remember for anyone near east 65th street as of the 23rd there were still some lime tubes left.

Jeff, I have used the Mitchell's twice now. Check out Richard's great photos in a past thread on creating a lather with the Wool Fat. Maybe a tad thicker lather than with a Harris for example. Not too sure about the lavender scent this am but a clean old fashion scent for sure.
