100 blade Feather deals???
Probably 18 months ago, I ordered the 100 blade deal from Cotton Blossom Crafts, and I am now down to my last 10 pack. It appears that CBC no longer offers this deal due to distribution circumstances beyond their control. Problem is, the only online vendors I can find are offering the same 100 blade...

Perhaps I should clarify...I am not talking about staining on my dress shirts...what happens over time is that the color literally fades in my armpit area, as if someone applied bleach to my shirts. What I am trying to determine is if this is due to the aluminum content of most deodorants, a chemica...

Dress shirt armpit fading or staining...how to prevent?
I have a minor problem...all of my dress shirts for work, after a few washes, start to develop very noticeable color fading in the armpit area. It typically happens with 100% cotton shirts...my fiber blend shirts do not experience this problem...similarly, darker shirts like black or blue do not fad...

Need a relatively decent quality synthetic brush
I started wet shaving approximately a year ago, and purchased a Boar hair shaving brush from Target under the Proraso line. In other threads, I mentioned that I am still getting some irritation with wet shaving, although not nearly as bad from when I shaved with cartridge based systems. I recently u...

Not sure I understand your comments on the markings??? If I look at my Progress, above the ivory colored knob, there is a raised dot that essentially marks the setting of the razor...on the ivory colored knob, the settings range from 1 to 5+, with dash increments between. So the settings run: space;...

Merkur Progress Use Questions
I finally decided to make the upgrade from a Merkur HD to the Progress, and used it for the first time this morning...but I am not sure if I am using it correctly. First, inserting the blade...the directions that came with the Progress weren't all that clear on how to insert a fresh blade, so I assu...

Not sure witch hazel is the answer either...I used to use a witch hazel based toner, and had a reaction to it...like I said, I have skin allergies to just about everything green or plant based under the sun...so it is sometimes hard for me to determine what I am having a reaction to, and most shavin...

Not sure if I have discovered the bottom of my problems, but it does seem that simplifying things a bit did help. I tried using the Aveeno moisturizer last night, independent of shaving, and sure enough, this morning I woke up with bumps I was attributing to shaving...so my assumption is that my fac...

Truefitt & Hill Shaving Cream packaging question
So I decided to pick up a tub of T&H ultimate comfort shaving cream this evening at Nordstrom's, as all the reputable online vendors seem to be out. Got the tub home and unscrewed the cap, but all of the shaving cream had accumulated to one side of the tub. I assume that the shaving cream probab...

Tried a few new things. Last night, I applied a thin layer of cocoa butter to my neck, as this is where I typically get ingrown hairs...my beard is sometimes like a field of razor blades, and as it starts to grow in, the whiskers tend to grow back into my neck like little splinters...I read that coc...

There is another possibility - you could be mixing you shaving cream a little too thick, making it hard to shave. Is your razor fairly easy to rinse, or does it take some effort to get the residue off of it? The cream is definitely thick, and takes a few shakes to come off the razor...that, and bec...

Help - New Routine is Still Not Working
I posted a few weeks ago with questions regarding my wet shaving technique and choice of products. Based on the recommendations from that original post, I shifted my routine, but I am still encountering a lot of problems. Here is the routine: Start off with a hot shower, I typically wash my face eve...

I have been using the Proraso pre/post shave cream for the past two weeks. My beard growth is relatively thick, and I have been struggling with finding the right product to soften it prior to applying cream. From what I have read, and heard, most of the high end pre shave oils aren't worth the expen...

Well I tried what you suggested this morning, and apparently water was the issue...my brush was not wet enough, and instead of generating a thick lather in the bowl, the cream was simply accumulating on the brush in its out of tube state. While mixing this morning, I thought I had added too much wat...

Proraso Lathering Question
Based on many recommendations for Proraso across this forum, and other places, I decided to invest in the Pre-Post Shave cream, a tube of Proraso shaving cream, their after shave balm and shaving brush. Given the price, their brush works just fine...and the Pre-Post shave cream does soften my beard ...
