I actually had to search that one in the dictionary. That was my lesson for the day.

Back on topic, TOBS limes performance was very good but I was not all that into the scent. Just ok for me.

I agree that the bevel must be set. But I offer a less expensive way to do it. You don't need high dollar stones. To your current tools just add a 1k to establish your bevels on those ebay specials and a Chinese 12k to polish and then finish with your paste .5 diamond then strop.

It is an okay cream. Shaving qualities are good and it does have menthol. I was disappointed by its scent. I was expecting the cream to be more along the lines of the Aftershave scent but it was not even close.

I am still trying to understand why so many folks have a problem lathering this soap. I have never encountered any issues with this soap. I can understand water quality problems but outside of that it is just the same as any other soap.

A good shampoo every now and then is all I use on my brushes. No need for anything harsher chuck full of chemicals.

Fan shape all the way. I have use both and find that the bulb does not hold as much lather and the lather tends to move down towards the knot. With the fan shape I find that the lather stays on the top of the bristles and in the breach. Again, YMMV.

SolingenFan wrote: How much times a week do you guys perform a BBS straight shave?
Well, I get BBS every time I use a straight razor. I shave 4-5 times a week because it takes about a day and a half to get stubble growing enough to shave again after a BBS straight shave.

The scent is different but not bad imho. I much prefer the cream. The shave stick is ok but not to the level it is elevated in other forums. I also place it along the same level as the palmolive stick. I believe Erasmic is a higher quality product when compared to the Speick stick. The Speick shave ...

I use the cube, shaving paste and AS conditioner. All three are excellent products. I get great shaves every time. In my experience it does not take any longer than any other shave and I shave with a straight razor.

The AOS Rose is excellent. The scent is fantastic and the preformance is very good. Yes it is marketed as a cream for ladies but I can assure it is an excellent performer for us guys as well.

I suggest bentonite clay to add slick and Castor oil to stabilize the lather. Both ingredients also helps create a lasting thick and rich lather. The bentonite clay will give the soap a greenish color. If you want to add scent make sure to add the oil after your base is melted. I use a glycerin base...

Because it's not easier. Because it's not quicker. Because there is a learning curve. Because it's satisfying . It's that simple. The sheer satisfaction of doing something well, that few can do or would even try. It's much more than just another shave. You'll find out when you try it! Chris Exactly...

I guess I am one of the lucky few who can use the rose scented creams with no problems. In my opinion T&H has the lighter scent when I compared with TOBS and Trumper's. In reading this thread I was unaware that T&H was going to discontinue the rose cream. I really like it so I will be making...
