Re: Package incoming from Pakistan

I get these all the time, it's a scam. I never even open the email and nothing ever shows up on my door.

Re: Mince Pies etc

Gosh, that all looks delicious. There's nothing like homemade bread and an Italian meal, so wonderful. Can't say I've ever had mince pie but I have had a hankering to try Christmas pudding, which I've also never had until yesterday. Bought a small tub of it at the local Wegman's and gave it a go. It...

Re: Ear Wax - A Novella

Resurrecting this old thread because I've recently irrigated my ears using a Waterpik. As an aside, while reading this I thought this topic best in the Gentleman's Forum but since it's so old here we go. For the last few years I've had instances where my left ear was nearly completely closed and I w...

Re: Vetiver

It's funny how the colder months can make one nostalgic for Summer scents.

I was contemplating using Salter's French Vetiver cream last weekend just because I wanted something Summer-like. Never got around to it but I'm still bit by the bug. Maybe in the next few weeks as Winter is nigh.

This is a can of worms.

There are posts elsewhere on this but I suspect we'll never know the truth.

Nothing today but recently my two newly acquired Bokers in the last few months. Nice blades that take an edge easy and provide an excellent shave.

Re: Marseille/Aleppo/Castille soaps, Yardley, Mitchells Wool Fat

About twelve years ago I tried the Savon de Marseilles soap and found out it really dried my skin. I think it has a lot of glycerin in it also which my skin did not like. Used it to shampoo as well and it wound up making my hair like straw after a while. Went back to the Yardley and tried Mitchells,...

Re: Cats, and the Killing Thereof

Excellent post! And very nostalgic. When I read the headline I about gulped a mouthful of my cigar smoke but reading on slightly I knew what I was in for and it was excellent. I also was able to exhale by that point. :) That no name TI was pushed by he who shall not be named. I had one and they were...

Re: Simpler still

This is a very interesting thread. Lather preference is a very personal thing and I, myself, have tweaked my lathering technique over the years many times. I like face lathering and I like a nice thick protective lather yet as a straight user I need slickness to go along with a thick lather to make ...

Re: Travelling with a Straight and Coping with Disparity

Agreed. I started out straight shaving when I was 12 or 13. I used the same razor until my late twenties. When we all started going to University I took that razor with me when I visited friends at their college etc. I never even considered a back up. Fast forward to today and I have a small plethor...

Re: Titanic

Clive, glad you enjoyed yourself.

On/off topic, has anyone noticed that the movie Titanic has been playing a lot? I have no idea why but I caught it playing a few times in the last week.

Anyone know why? I don't think it's anniversary or anything so I'm stumped.
