I bought my Futur online, along with the Men-U Premier brush... Korres AS balm, etc. My next online purchases should include a soap/cream dish and maybe another razor... dunno about that one though. Maybe some shaving soap as well, a Simpson Duke brush perhaps. I've already found a website that sell...

I still use and love my Pentax K1000 (totally manual as well). I have a nice 50mm lens, and pretty cheap longer lens. Takes great photos. Those cameras are great beginners cameras, with them being totally manual and having the backup of a mass of K-mount lenses. I'd love to upgrade to a Nikon, howe...

I don't think I know that one. Mine had a manual aperture and shutter, but they were linked to the meter. You could set one and then adjust the other until a needle matched up, and then you had the right exposure. I had also used rangefinder camersa that had no meters. You just carried your own and...

You guys are all spoiled these days by great cameras tha do everything. Yup. In another forum, I see frequent questions as to what the difference is between "f/no" and "aperture", and how to set the correct exposure. When I got my first SLR (a Topcon Super, if anyone remembers t...

Not bad. You might find those lenses will produce "soft" photos though, use them with the aperture set at around f8 or smaller.

Tony, all the most expensive equipment in the world cannot guarantee good photos. It'll only guarantee big dents in the bank balance.

I have heard the daylights saving time was implemented to save on costs of oil to light lamps back in the day. An extra hour of light resulted in tremendous lighting oil savings. Hmm.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving The idea of DST was first put into practice by the German governmen...

And, GIMP - one of the best free programs out there, IMHO. I like the AVG but switched to Antivir and I think the latter is better. I switched to Linux some years ago. Best antivirus utility available, imho. It even runs stuff like "GIMP", which is handy for dealing with digital photos. W...

i really wanted to like it but found it far more awkward than just shaving with a regular handled razor. i forced myself to use it for a week then it went in the garbage bin. I considered that, as well as the Headblade razor, but read that they clog up far too quickly. Also, the prospect of possibl...

The back of the head's the most daunting, as you can't see what's going on. Don't use or rely on mirrors, you could end up slicing by accident, due to the way the mirror-mirror reflection appears and how you'll react to a possible sideways movement. Use your fingers to feel where there's stubble. Ge...

Re: Used my first Feather tonight. Ouchie.

I did get a very close shave, no doubt about it. Thought it was at a pretty painful cost. I made a big gash on the underside of my chin. I have no idea how I did it, but I sure felt it when it happened. Needless to say the Styptic pencil caused massive amounts of pain there to stop the profuse blee...

I have a shave last thing at night, thankfully I don't have a fast-growing beard, nor is stubble blatently obvious on me. By 7pm the following day, my unbearded areas look as stubble-laden as most others on the desk did at 9am that day.

Well, after getting a £4 discount voucher from the Mankind loyalty scheme, I settled for... a "men-u premier" brush.

It certainly feels softer than the brush it's replacing. Usage report follows tomorrow, maybe. :)
