Alright, well since I was ordering a bunch of blades from Giovanni I tacked on the Omega professional as well. I normally don't face lather either, I just use the little plastic container that the Williams/VDH soap comes in. I'm thinking that I should upgrade that... My idea of buying the little VDH...

I'm happy to bite the bullet, esp. with the ebay live cashback thing happening. Exfoliation by the brush is getting the skin ready for me. Not sure if I'm expressing that correctly. Also boar seems like it does a great job mixing up the soap. Not sure I want something to soft for that purpose. Can y...

need a new brush

I'm getting bored, so now buying razors (merkur futur and fat boy incoming), blades (tryphon sampler on the way) and miscellany (not sure what but I'll buy something dammit!). However, my brushes don't make me happy. I currently use a large boar (I think) brush I bought in Turkey for ~$4. Works ok, ...

Personally I love these soaps. Don't care much for more smells, but they work great.

One of my other favorites is Colgate Palmolive.

Someday I'll spend more (the way I am doing on razors and brushes), but I like this stuff so I'll keep going with it.

Yes, I could add it to my bookmarks, delicious, save it in a text file, or we could have a wiki for repetitive topics... I just find it most useful to have the list in the place where I use the information, moreover it gives a way to edit those subscriptions.

As they say, a watched topic never boils.

list of watched/subscribed threads

Hi there, A lot of boards have ways to see your list of watched/subscribed threads. For a board like this it would be especially handy since there are "reference" posts that I want to save and have a list of, but don't necessary have that much traffic. I think some versions of phpBB have t...

I'm a fan of the aveeno oatmeal stuff when I don't want to play with a brush.

Thanks guys...Really appreciate the recommendations. I think that while what I have may be razor burn, it's more likely acne / ingrown hairs / skin irritation. FYI, I've tried simplifying things a bit...That's where I am now -- just using cetaphil and aveeno shave cream. I always shower before shavi...

Yes yes, I'm not using a straight razor. Sorry about that. Right now my blades are israeli personas. I tried a Derby and it was too aggressive. I have a 1950s SuperSpeed as well as a GEM, although I have no blades for the GEM. I actually need to buy blades for both so any recommendations (or offers)...

need help w/ serious irritation, razor burn, acne, etc.

Hi all, I'm having some serious trouble on my neck and have had so for about 10 years. It is literally impossible for me to shave without causing intense razor burn, acne, irritation. I have tried: -smartshave system (came closest to helping for me) -straight razors (using a superspeed right now) [E...

Does anyone have any extra blades that I can purchase?

Thanks for the info. I try to stick to no aluminum because of whatever rumor floated around about it a few years ago... In fact, all I remember is the "no aluminum" part :)
