I've found a couple of things which help using a canned foam. I wash my face with a fairly rough washcloth to exfoliate a little and remove oils and any residual debris, then rinse with warm water. I put a blob of foam in my hand, then work in a little water to make the foam more liquid. It seems th...

Wow! These are the exact same blades I got in a recent estate sale (my post of "found an old friend") and Gordon said they were expensive. Had no idea and I acquired four packages of them. I will surely use some of them before I get too old to shave.

I haven't tried the Personna 74s (actually there were 4 packages in the box) but the Schick blades are smooth as silk. Every once in a while you do stumble across a deal; I wasn't even looking for shaving stuff, even though there were some mugs and other shaving items available. I have actually been...

Paul;

It is the squarish handle with a round adjustment wheel just under the head, has a chrome strip on the handle that says Schick Adjustable. I haven't done any research when it was made. The one I used like it was in the mid 60's.

Found an old friend

At a recent garage sale I found a cased, long-handled adjustable Schick injector razor. I had one for a long time and somewhere along the way it disappeared, so I haven't used one in years. I have a couple of other Schick injectors I do use now and then, but had to have this one. As they say, this o...

Shave Soap Blowout - SOLD

The following items are sold as a LOT only; no breakouts. I am disposing of these because of a complex calculation involving number of shaves a week, expected lifespan, number of soaps on hand, etc., as well as creams on hand both in tubs and tubes. Also because of a resolution left over from last y...

Unexpected Converts

This last week I had to have a bathroom fan/vent replaced and an electrician and his helper showed up to do the work. I checked on them as they were just completing the job, and they were looking at my selection of brushes, soaps/creams, mugs and razors I have in the bathroom. Turns out one of them ...

Gordon; I guess I inadvertently wandered into brush collection territory. I have my favorites (Polo 8, T3, another Rooney and a couple of Shavemacs) that I use frequently and these others are just taking up shelf space. It appears that brushes are like hangers in a closet; if you leave them alone fo...

Shaving in the Shower

I rarely shave in the shower, and have not done so for quite some time. However, my current schedule allows for some extra time so I thought I would give it a try. I found a couple of chunks of hard soap and dug out a DE I had not used in some time and put it on the razor hanger I had installed in t...

It's big and bulky and hard to get into small places, such as under the nose. Biggest problem, the handle has no knurling and it gets slick.

I really like shaving with a straight razor, and found it was even easier and as effective to use a Japanese style straight. I had to quit because of a relatively minor hand injury, but enough so that controlling the razor was a little dicey. I still take out the straights and pet them every once in...
