Third GEM shave, Wow!
Reading the GEM experiences described here, I bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260000422401&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=016 Today was my third shave, and I used the teflon blades from Electron Microscopy Services, Proraso preshave, and Proraso green...

I've been using the Stahly as my primary razor for quite some time now. My Gillette HD adjustable, Shick injector, and PAL Adjustable injector are gathering dust. The Stahly's weight seems to give a great shave. My routine is to give it 7 quick half winds, shave half of the face, 7 quick rewinds aga...

I just returned home from vacation. I will be selling one of my PAL adjustbles to Joe Lerch. I will have two others for sale, along with 2 personna injectors, and some Type E Bakelite (Not really Bakelite, but everyone call them that) injectors. I may end up putting this stuff on ebay. That price f...

I won a similar slant marked "POMOCO", awhile back. It is the same thing.
This looks silver plated and in good shape.
If you want a slant, this may be the most inexpensive route.

Rich, Pick up a Stahly Live Blade off eBay as clownjuggles suggested. A chrome and black one just closed without any bids and the starting bid was a few dollars. Just make sure to ask the seller if it still works ok. It would be a cheap experiment. Mine seems to pause slightly as I'm shaving up unde...

I used some Zebco Reel oil I had laying around. I have the HD Adjustable, and put a few drops along the gap around the adjustment ring, the silo door hinges, into the hole where the rod that pulls the silo doors closed, into the bottom of the handle in the center, and around the threads the on the i...

Rich, I'm glad you found some relief and something that works for you. I've moved from the Gillette HD Adj, to the Stahly Live Blade, to a slant head with a very light handle, to using the slant head on the Stakley handle (but not vibrating - just for the weight), back to the Gillette, then currentl...

Growler, I've been shaving with mine for several days now and am pleased with the results. I've suddenly broke out with several ingrown hairs though, which I've not had using a Gillette HD Adj. The vibration removes some of the feedback you get from the razor. When shaving against the grain going up...

Rich, I'm newer at this than you, and thank you for your earlier encouragement. Stick with it, and don't give up yet. Patience pays big dividends :-) It seems as though the blade angle is critical for me. I've got great results from starting with the razor resting on the curved cap - handle horizont...
