Only DE I've ever used is the Merkur Long Handle. I could probably stand to use a slightly less aggressive razor, but otherwise it works fine as long as I get the lather right. I like the weight and balance, it's no problem changing my grip to change angles and pressure.

Quick question: anyone know if it's actually hypoallergenic as the packaging claims? Considering that it's scented, this worries me. Even something as relatively mild as Tom's of Maine Calendula seems to cause slight irritation.

I usually go for the dark beers. One of the best I've had is Belhaven Scottish Ale. Think Guinness only creamier and more flavorful. Otherwise something along the lines of Newcastle. And I love me a heffeweissen, wheat beers are wonderful.

I love coffeegeek. I currently switch off between a manual pour over and a small french press. Both are quite cheap to try. I still use preground coffee, but my cup has improved simply based on these methods. It's all about water temperature and proper technique.

Yeah, if your commute to work is 30 minutes, that's a fairly long one for here, unless you have bad traffic. Depending on traffic and where you live, it just doesn't usually take all that long. Besides work, it doesn't take all that long to get somewhere unless you're going somewhere trendy on a wee...

Due to San Diego's weird layout, it doesn't feel quite as hardcore urban as a lot of big cities. That also means you practically have to have a car, cause public transportation here sucks and most things are too far to walk, or often ride a bike in a reasonable amount of time. But uh, yeah, welcome,...

I've only used a long-handle classic.
The Personnas work well for me, through the two packs I've used. I just picked up a pack from Long's, and they have been really rough. Obviously, it's just hit or miss whether these blades will work for you, but they have the potential to be quite good.

Have you tried any of the unscented creams? A lot of scented creams irritate my skin, making the shaving process painful and the end shave of poor quality. Fortunately, I've never had issues with razor burn, except for a brief time while using the DE; never with an M3, my face seems quite resistant ...

Read my sig. That is my favorite sf author. He's often compared, favorably, to Heinlein. Great blend of hard science and deep characters. Now if only he'll finish the bloody Chtorr series... Okay, so that got delayed while he raised a kid. Reckon that's acceptable :P

It really is a perfectly normal look for men. It isn't that it doesn't fit current cosmetic science, it doesn't fit current fashion, which tends towards an "any hair is bad" mentality. Well, except for the top of your head. Basically, do you look like a preteen? No? Good luck...

Lyrt, of the three bottle pictures, I think the third works best. Although I like the brightness around the base of the bottle in the first.

Risky, from what I've read, the guy who designed it prefers that strength, so the instructions don't use as much coffee. Apparently if you go with regular coffee ratios, it's fine.

I'll just have a superior cup of coffee from my Aeropress to celebrate. How do you like your aeropress? It seems like an interesting product, and may be a logical next step from my press pot. The perfect cup of coffe? Will they be featuring coffees from better local shops? Heck, it isn't too hard t...
