Re: Cioconut Oil Pulling

Sam, anything that mentions 'toxins' is automatically hogwash. C. This + nothing antimicrobial about vegetable oils + nothing in vegetable oils that whitens teeth (you would need either a mild abrasive or bleaching agent for that). It's literally one of the dumbest fads to come along since the magi...

Wash your face before you shave for two reasons: 1. Your natural skin oil is not a good lubricant. Rub the side of your nose with your index finger, then rub the tips of your index finger and thumb together and you will see what I mean. 2. As someone else said, the oil and grime will prevent the sha...

Yeah, I'd say they were charging early adopters the typical premium and now that the product has achieved its initial penetration they're looking to move Mach 3 users to the new Fusion line. Personally, the whole Fusion Power thing was the reason I decided to give the DE a shot - the market had cros...

RTD, Who says that they are? The ones that many of us use, that we loosely refer to '1940s Superspeeds'. were mostly made from 1948 on through the early '50s. These are very good, very consistant shavers, and the build quality is really phenomenal for what was, at the time, a basic drug store razor...

What is it that supposedly makes the 1940's Superspeeds better than all later models?

Just made wetshave number two with the Merkur HD. Much closer than last night's, and with just a couple of nicks around the lower neck area. If I keep improving at this rate, I'll be BBS in a few days.

I made a stop at target today. I picked up some Proraso shaving cream and Pre shaving cream. We'll see how that worksout. Oh and I picked up the medium prep bowl as well. That was harder to find.......I sort of stumbled upon it. Thank you again for the heads up, just the bowl I was looking for. Yea...

Yeah yeah yeah, I know, BADGER. Anyway, I "wetshaved" with the Prorasso, boar brush, and Mach3 every day for a week, and by the end of the week was getting a nice BBS shave. Decided to give the Merkur HD and the BADGER brush a whirl tonight. The brush was a HUGE improvement over the boar, ...

RueTheDay: What brand is the bowl? I only ask because I'm trying to find the bowl online and can't seem to find it. Also Target is 30 minutes away so I would rather see it online first. Or get the brandname so I can call too. I have tried searching but I have failed. Just looking for some more info...

Just completed my first wetshave

I'm still waiting for my order from Classicshaving to show up, so in the meantime, I went on down to Target today and got some Prorasso Cream, Soap, and Brush. Gave it a try for the first time tonight using my Mach 3. Results were pretty good. I watched all of Mantic's videos and tried to follow alo...

Picked up a shaving bowl at Target

I was getting impatient waiting for my Classicshaving order to arrive, so I headed over to Target and got the Prorasso Shaving Cream, Soap, and Brush. While in the housewares section, I saw a perfect shaving bowl - double walled stainless steel, 2.6" high by 5.3" wide with a beautiful shap...

Can we get a downloadable version? For whatever reason, these Macromedia movies on Youtube and Google never work right for me - they play for a few seconds and then crap out.

If you are jumping in from cartridge shaving (M3, Fusion, Quattro, etc), I would recommend starting off with a double edge razor like the Merkur HD. This will help you build your technique and get you practised using a brush and a single sharp blade. Yes, I currently alternate between a Mach 3 and ...

Advice for a newbie

I've been considering shaving with a straight razor for some time now, so I hopped on over to classicshaving.com and priced out a lower-end Dovo, Vulfix brush, strop, hones, shaving soaps, mug, skin treatments, etc. and the total came to around $300. More than I want to spend at the moment. I'd pref...
