Where did you guys get it from? And it's very soothing against irritation you say? Is it light and fast-absorbing?

questions about trumper crown stopper bottles

My current aftershave comes in a cheap plastic bottle, and I've been wanting to decant it into something more classy-looking, for the counter. I like the looks of the Trumper 'crown stopper' style bottles. But is the top able to removed, allowing refilling? And will it leak if inverted upside down, ...

I wonder when aftershave balms first appeared?

It seems like all 'old-school' aftershaves were alcohol-based (Skin Food being the exception, I think). Does anyone know when the first moisturizing aftershave balms started appearing?

How much for the above modification? I like the extra length. My previous Progress busted, so Merkur sent me a new one- except it doesn't go below '2' :? .

You want the Ulster Fry - bacon and soda-bread and potatoe-bread fried in fat with eggs, mushrooms, blackpudding, sausages fried in bacon fat washed down with big cup of tea. A full cardiac work-out on a plate. That'll definitely get me through the day... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/th...

Perhaps its the timeframe when most men used DEs and Injectors and brushes, but before the introduction of canned foam? Lots of quality stuff is available now via the internet, but only used by a small number of hobbyists. Not exactly my idea of a sweeping 'Age'.

If anyone is curious as to what Fleming's favorite wristwatch was, the current issue of Watch Time says it was his Rolex Explorer I, and that this is likely the Rolex that Fleming constantly referenced in the Bond novels.

twining's green tea- thumbs down

Having enjoyed jasmine-flavored tea before, I noticed Twining's Jasmine Green Tea on the grocery shelf. "Ooh, a royal warrant, it must be good" . After drinking through half the box, I'm thoroughly dissapointed. Not only do I not detect a single hint of jasmine flavor or aroma, it gives me...

A friend of mine is a pharmacist, and she told me the hangover cure of choice for her hard drinking Russian pharmacist co-workers - a drop of ammonia in a glass of water, chugged down. She told me she tried it once and it worked like a charm. Interesting about the ammonia. I read somewhere that D.R...

I usually just take a couple of apsirins, and swallow them down with a single gulp of water. I've found that drinking more water with the pills makes it slower for the painkillers to digest. I know they say that lots of liquids are good, but my stomach usually can't hold down lots of liquid when wak...

Re: Schick Blades

Four single pass BBS shaves with a vintage Schick from the 80s I suppose...yellow package silver and black dispenser...saw of pick of the package somewhere on this board. Shouldn't be playing with these old things though since I have so many others to try from Giovanni's small sampler. BBS shaves w...

Final verdict of the Injector?

I've been interested in the Injector razors as of late, but can't be quite sure what to make of them. The new Schick blades seem to be commonly considered as sub-par. At this stage in my wetshaving life, I have no use for anything that's sub-par. And then there's the Injector/Feather combination. Sh...

Good, I was just about to ask about pacific shave oil. Apparently, it can be used by itself. You said it doesn't gunk up a DE razor? That's a problem I had using King of Shaves oil with my HD. What kind of consistent shaves do you get with it? How's the irritation and/or bumps?

My shaves are best every other day

I don't know why, but when I wait 2-3 days in between shaves, the stubble just melts off like hot butter when I finally shave. Just a single with-the-grain pass is needed, and my skin is left glowing. It's almost uncanny. Does anyone else experience this? I suspect it's because longer hairs are soft...
