Satisfactory cream, but OVERHYPED: Trumper Violet.

Just plain crappy, little hype: Williams soap.

I have never enjoyed the Florena shave cream. While it most certainly is a step up from canned foam, it is less than stellar compared to the 3 T's, Proraso, Musgo, QED soaps and the like. I guess I am saying it is about the least favorite cream that I have tried. Some, however, find it fantastic, so...

No, the Fisher King is Chris Fisher (fisherc.) Chris has tried almost every shaving product made by the hand of man, so if you want an opinion on something obscure, he's your guy. Gordon either goes by Gordon, The Duke of Silvertip, or the newly dubed Prince of Shavegeeks :D Gordon, shall we refer ...

He purposely makes his claims to get people going. If he gets any of us "going" or upset by what he is writing, then he is successful in his venture. He is the puppetmaster pulling the strings. It is quite easy to inflame passions by the written word, or so I have read.

If you read closely, he admits he is shavegeek. His blog is extremely well done. Great writing, great humor. Of course his readership is overstated, but who cares?

Good job Corey! Carry on with stirring things up!

Taylor Lavender is my favorite scent of all creams. I like the fact that it is strong and in your face. I can see, however, that such a fragrance might not appeal to many gentlemen.

Good god, ChrisF, I would venture that you are probably one of the world's biggest authorities on shaving product, and I am being serious. Have you ever thought about parlaying your passion into a money making venture?

I don't recall from which novel it is, but I know there is at least one reference where JB refers to colognes from Guerlain. I know this, as it was that reference that further fueled my interest into fine toiletries a number of years ago.

If anyone finds this reference, please advise!

What is of more value to the average virile American? A $3 Fuzzion blade, or Iverson making $20 million a year, plus endorsements. (Mebbe he should do Gillette commercials!)

blah114, I have always been of the camp that just because it is not "English" does not mean it is no good. Personally, I find Nancy Boy just "ok", and Zirh does not tickle my boat either. However, if you find them good, that is all that matters, despite what others say. It is the...

wess76: In my view, save yourself the agony and avoid the method. It is flawed in many ways, in my opinion. Use the regular good stuff, and shave only with the grain for a while, one pass. While your shave might not be ultra smooth, it will be good enough, and I predict within a couple of weeks of n...

Wacky Packages

I don't know if anyone recalls the "Wacky Packages" novelty from the mid 1970's. They were sort of like baseball cards, with a stick of gum, but had baseball card sized stickers that parodied various products of the day. Near the bottom of the following link their is a parody of Schick raz...
