Outstanding! Gentlemen behaving as gentlemen, rising above potential bad blood with a handshake and a nod.

Well done, gents.

I used Norelcos for nigh-on 10 years before learning to wet shave. I'd have to say that I did on occasion achieve decent shaves with it, and your face does adjust to the pulling and irritation if that's all it knows. Learning how to handle a DE, however, has introduced me to what a truly good shave ...

Oh, no question. Part of learning how to shave properly, for me, has been completing my portfolio of being every inch the gentleman. More than one date of mine has been favorably flabbergasted that there are still men under 50 (I'm 35) who will pull chairs, open doors and the like for a lady. A chin...

It has arrived, and I have borne it home. I even had to spend extra time at the FedEx office because they couldn't locate the box, F&W had munged its outsides up so badly. But, ah, the brush. The Tabac soap was pristine, and smelled much better than I expected. But, ah, the brush. The stand was ...

No. I went back to a M3 for one shave because I was in a hurry. Big mistake. Yes, the shave was quick but boy did I pay! It shaves the neck close and easily but leaves terrible bumps. My friend uses the M3 and he also gets miserable bumps on his neck. I know that doesn't solve your problem but I ju...

Mine *is* in town, but of course it couldn't have ended smoothly. Apparently the street portion was left off the address when the item was repackaged by F&W or FedEx! (I checked my invoice and the address was correct when it left Bernd.) I called, and corrected them, but rather than have it take...

Spoke with a rep at FedEx, and apparently F&W released the brush today at 2:30--after six days of apparently checking it for guns, germs and terrorist sympathizers. Supposedly it's going to go through customs tomorrow, and in the best of all possible worlds should arrive Friday in the morning. ....

Dave, I've only called once, and then was given the "it's with the government now, there's nothing we can do" stonewall. I figured there was little else I could do from that point onward, and have curbed my kvetching for the most part. And Ron, as a five-year veteran divorcé, morbid intros...

Re: Blade Technique a la Vin Diesel

In any case I've come to believe that those of us who were promoting short strokes with the DE were mistaken. The long strokes give you much better control. Stop-and-go shaving may well work for some guys, but for me it's definitely the long, flowing stroke that will be used from now on. It's comfo...

My gold standard is:

I got a Royal Shave at Art of Shaving when I was in Vegas back in May. Sadly I was enough of a neophyte wetshaver that my skin wasn't in great shape when I sat in the chair, and the fellow had to go easier than he might have liked. Still, an amazing experience (along with the best haircut I've ever ...
