Re: For Marmite lovers only

My three favourite (in no particular order): 1. Buttered toast, marmite and marmalade 2. Buttered toast, marmite, scrambled eggs with cilantro 3. Cheese sandwiches* - white bread, butter, marmite, old cheddar, raw white onion slices * consume only when you know you will be solo for at least 48-hours...

Re: How did you discover wetshaving?

Pinched my Dad's electric*. Tried it, and didn't really do well with it - face felt dry and raw. Switched to Gillette cartridges and got caught up in their upgrade ladder. Finally, Googled how to get the best shave and found you lot. BTW would have to say my favourite cartridge was the Atra. *return...

I've been wet shaving with cartridge razors since I was 16 years old and then found you lot in 2005. This obviously upped my game while simultaneously downing my wallet! I've never, ever had a beard in my life. Ever. However, last year around this time I decided I was going to grow one. Eight months...

Re: I did it ---

On days when I don't feel like shaving, I employ a radical solution. I don't. It doesn't happen often, but it means an extra close and enjoyable shave when I gather my wits and return to the sink. C. I agree. We went to Italy last year for two weeks and I packed my full kit, which included a Feathe...

Re: Searzall

I've just gotten into sous vide and saw the Searzall but in spite of being a gadget freak I couldn't bring myself to buy one. It just seemed it would take too much time to sear 4-steaks for a family dinner. My preference is to simply sear in my beloved Lodge. Check this out http://www.seriouseats.co...

Re: Chickpea Curry

For a guy named Ravi, I'm absolutely cr*p at making Indian food (I go to mum's house) - so very much appreciate some of the neat twists you've suggested Chris - also VERY impressed you use ikan bills! I was born in Kuala Lumpur and love the anise flavour of a Malaysian curry!

Re: Smoothie Blender

Good to know and good to see you, Ravi! This sweetener is based on fructose, which we tend to get way too much of in our diets. As I understand it, fructose is metabolized by the liver, rather than the pancreas. As such, insulin is not involved, but we tend to get so much fructose from processed fo...

Re: Smoothie Blender

and a tablespoon of blue agave syrup. It just works. I'm a great believer in the health benefits of agave myself. Most Agave sweeteners sold today are made by treating the sugars with heat and enzymes, which destroys all the beneficial health effects of the Agave plant. The end product is a highly ...

I have the full BK range and love all of them. Very soft tips with an incredible facility to generate lather. The only concern might revolve around your need for a brush with backbone - these decidedly don't! That being said I fully concur with Squire's observation that the BK4 is "just right&q...

I did try to keep my creams hydrated however I couldn't keep up and grew impatient/lazy which led to a lac...
