Not sure, but I think posting following link is mandatory whenever philosophy is brought up on an internet forum...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku1TKX8Q5Fo :P Well, this being the only internet forum I participate in, do pardon me when I decide to post/ramble about such things. Perhaps 'decid...

Great acquisitions, Nathan! I can't even be out a couple of days, I end up missing out on all of this action! Beautiful specimens, indeed. Do report on your impressions, i.e., how may swipes it takes to lather your face (or how shiny your vehicle's wheels turn out). That looks, to my untrained eye, ...

Critique of Pure Reason

http://standupforamerica.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/immanuel-kant.jpg Anyone here into philosophy? I find myself fascinated by the work of Immanuel Kant and his kin. To spend your whole life thinking about thinking and the meaning of it all, is commendable, to say the least. Critique of Pure Reaso...

Infidel

Brett posted something in a nearby thread that really hit home. Namely, it made me think of a term that is used rather loosely around here. 'Fidelity' is praised. I'd say, for all the wrong reasons. When I first started wet shaving I hated anything that was rose scented. I'm not sure when things tur...

For those that inquired reference the size, here. Next to what I think is the largest Simpson handle I have, the gargantuan Polo 10. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/2383/dsc04261.jpg http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/2129/dsc04271s.jpg http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/4900/dsc04301.jpg Next to t...

Interesting critiques. Well, be it 'suicide music' or not, the fact is, that millions of men/women feel that very same way. Sad as it is, they live their lives engulfed with such sentiments within, not with any assist from this cheerful UK band. Such music is bound to bubble up to the surface one wa...

Well, I encountered Radiohead out of sheer serendipity. And I happen to think of this particular track as art. I think of 'art' as anything that forces you to stop, and think. I also think of art as a piece of work that imposes on you a change in emotions. Bliss, sadness, delight, gloom, wonderment,...

Thank you whoever it was.

Pete
Radiohead is a UK band. How appropriate (?) that someone would ban you guys from seeing the video.

Wow, shopping around for their work, I came upon this album cover, 'Towering Above The Rest' http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2313/1593948036_8e02837e8c_o.png I did not know just how right and appropriate my alluding to self hate and nooses was. The lyrics to 'Creep' is one heck of a study in what lea...

Thanks for the kudos, guys! And Peter, yes, I've reached the conclusion that the AOS numbers were hand selected pieces, not random at all. For the prices they originally went for, they'd better be. But yes, I never saw a three banded specimen at all. All were two band, with beautiful horn. That's wh...

Aha..there is one! Nathan, a man of with an undeniable, impeccable taste for the finer things in life, and I'm guessing of the same age as Richard and I, showing some love for Radiohead. I don't own any of their CDs, I only have an acoustic/'unplugged' version they did live in Spain, I believe, that...

I think they earned their stripes due the the psychological inspiration for this particular track, which dates back to 1992-1993, I think. I appreciate it more so for its lyrical content more than the music itself. However, Richard, the irony of my post is that I'm no fan either, and you and I are a...

David, if that is the entrance fee, I think I'll remain a mere man and skip 'Da' Man Hood' all together! On a related note, this video reminds me of a thread, where someone told of a beautiful story where there existed a badger farm, in which badgers where humanely plucked for their hair. They roam...

Lynn, too funny! For what it's worth, I acquired one of the '#7' numbers from AOS, and according to my measurements, it is the #20. Even better news is, that, all that I gathered in intelligence seems to point to the theory that Plisson sent only hand picked, beautiful specimens out to AOS. They are...

Thanks, Nathan! I'm still dealing with that whole ordeal. I won't stop till I know that he is getting the best treatment possible. But I still don't know. I have two of Miami's most distinquished vets working on his case. No one knows what the heck he has. Thanks God, symptom free, still. :(
