Varon Dandy, the pinkish aftershave not the "platinum", definitely has a light clove scent and is very unique. Though light, it has surprising staying power. I've always liked it.

...and press a 1/2 used round of Wool Fat in the middle. The combination, for me, is the best soap I've encountered. I get the benefit of Wool Fat closeness that is extremely easy to lather with any brush i own. I use the valobra combo in one of those square-ish plastic tubs with the lids that have...

My current favorite, one that i have been using for a while is mitchells/kent, stuck in a mass of Valobra. I have yet to find a soap alone that compares in lathering ease, cushion, and shaving closeness. for those who have a hard time lathering mitchells/kent, the valobra helps considerably, without...

For what its worth...I have a 3128 and a 3132. I use the 28mm the most. My spouse uses the 32mm though i have been known to borrow it. I tend to use them with creams. I have a SMF 1 and 2, an SR230, a small Simpsons I use for backpacking and a T&H travel brush. The 3128 is my current favorite. F...

I received two cobalt blue scuttles (one for a gift, one for me!). My tap water is hot enough to yield nicely warm lather. I've grown sufficiently attached to it that the thought of placing it in a microwave seems disrespectful. I am contemplating a hotpot, for the winter months only.

I said I would post the results after i obtained blades from Auravita. In my opinion, the euro-mutt and "Swedish" Gillette's are functionally and aesthetically THE SAME. Same glassy smooth results as the Swedish-distributed models...

I purchased mine to clean milsurp rifles and handguns (use number 1002). The decent size ones come with all sorts of attachments and create a good amount of steam. Spouse uses it to clean grout etc. Anything containing gunk in crevices is subject to its wrath.

I bit on the ebay euromutt Gillette blades, tried them this morning in my Progress. If they aren't the true most-revered-nordic-blades, they are still very good. Way way way smoother than merkurs, zero drag, glassy smooth results. They are definitely a big step ahead of my merkurs, israeli personnas...

The Israeli Personna blades are my favorite. They have provided consistent, comfortable and close shaves for about a month now. I don't know if they are sharper than the merkurs, but they are more comfortable, to me. I haven't reached for merkurs or feathers since i tried these. I hope the supply do...
