WTB: 1940's Super Speed

... doesn't have to be mint, but I would like it to be in good condition. I thought I was pretty much settled on my Tech, but decided I need to give one of these a try.

I have a number of DEs I could offer for trade, or I could pay $$.

I've got to give this razor another try. It didn't work great for me the first time around, but close to 3 years later, I've got to revisit it.

Anyhoo... PM sent

Well... I guess I've answered my own question to the thread topic... After several shaves with the Slant, I just don't care for it much. I got fine shaves, with a few nicks my first shave, and none there-after. But it wasn't as comfortable as my superspeed or Tech. Fine razor, just not something my ...

First shave with the slant (and a fresh Derby)...couple of nicks on my neck... but I see the potential of this razor. I'll use it a little longer to see if I get the hang of it. I kind of shaved at my usual speed, instead of slowing down a bit... I will know better for next time. I did feel a differ...

I have received my mint gold slant, and will give it a try for the first time over the weekend. I will report my experience after a couple of shaves (I kind of feel like I'm cheating on my redtip SS... she ain't been nuthin' but good to me  )

Does anyone NOT like the Slant Bar?

... and if so, why? I am sure it has its naysayers... but I haven't found many. I have been happy with my '57 redtip superspeed, but am intrigued by the slant, which kind of sucks, because I liked having just one razor, and now I'm getting sucked back in I have a pretty thick beard, and a lot of mil...

Thanks for all the help, trades, laughter, and tears. Best to all Drew PS: I have edited my original post which included the parting shots, to which cigar Dan referred. To me, they were just critical observations of an environment that in my eyes has changed. None the less, they were not necessary. ...

AOS is great stuff. Their lavender cream is awesome, as is their sandalwood soap. It's a misnomer, because compared to Taylors, just about everything is expensive (save Proraso). AOS is $22 a tub, if memory serves. That's right on par, on a per oz. basis, with most other high quality creams. The pri...

Oh, The Burn!

I really like alcohol based aftershaves, but some certainly have more sting than others. I have less than 10 in my rotation, so hardly the inventory that many have, but here is my ranking based solely on "the burn factor" of the aftershaves I HAVE USED: 10 being the most severe burn, 0 bei...

Due diligence and fun facts

I was in downtown Chicago yesterday, and frequented many sellers of fine shaving products. Here's a run down of some information you all may find helpful: Truefitt and Hill -According to the manager, Coates has temporarily discontinued manufacturing. He does not have a clear time-frame as to when th...

I used the Taylors no. 74 lime aftershave today for the first time, and it smells great. To me, it dries down into a citrusy powdery type scent, after the initial blast of "in your face" lime wears off upon application. Anyone else get this?
