Penhaligon's is hands down my favorite house of cologne.

I currently have Blenheim, Endymion, Opus 1870, English Fern and Castile. I like them all but Blenheim and English Fern are my favorites. I find Opus doesn't last very long on me unless I put quite a lot on, still a very nice scent.

I really enjoy the Baxter line of products. My only slight complaint is that if I put on too much of the Supershape I tend to smell sunscreen all day. I haven't tried their shampoo or conditioner, but I have some in the cabinet and if what atnight said about it working on fine hair, it will get move...

I use a plug in mug warmer and get great warm lather. My warmer has two heat settings, low and high. I set it for high while I let the brush soak in the water while in the shower, then after I whip up my lather I change the temperature to the low setting and it later stays warm without drying out. J...

One of my all-time-favorite books is "An Instance of the Fingerpost" by Iain Pears. It is a historical mystery that takes place at Oxford in the 1660's and describes the death of an Oxford fellow through the eyes of four different witnesses. I've read the book three times and every time fi...

Chris, now you're talking my drink!!! As a good Virginian, I love bourbon! My current favorite is Eagle Rare 17 year old from the Old Prentice distillery. I also have a few bottles of Blantons, Evan William's Single Barrell 1994, Jefferson's Reserve, Booker's and good ole Jim Beam for mixing. I also...

I actually bought a 50ml of the Opus at the Penhaligon's store in Manchester two weeks ago. I really like it! The pepper scent seems like a top note and quickly disappears, at least on my skin. The sales woman also gave me a sample size of the Opus that I used before breaking the seal, so to speak, ...

Update!

Gentlemen, I have returned!!! After a few weeks of unemployment after taking the bar exam I was hired as a contract attorney at a firm in DC. The hours are nuts, on a good week I'm only working 60 hours a week, including weekends. Hence I have not had much time to check in here at the mecca of shavi...

Todd,

If there is a restaurant supply place in your town give them a call. If they don't have it, they will know who does.

Sounds delicious by the way!

Cheers,
Marshall

I received the Tea Trea and Bergamont samples from Kris. Unfortunately, I had a microwave accident with the Tea Tree so I didn't get to try it. The Bergamont however is another story. :) I loved the smell of this soap. Like the others here, I didn't get a great lather. However, I have to qualify tha...

WOW!!! I just emailed them last week for some samples and got the same "none available at this time but we'll send you some when possible" reply.

Maybe I'll have a little early Christmas as well.

Art, I can't promise anything right now. My current work schedule has me working 12 hrs a day Monday through Saturday. That may change or it may not and I won't know until a change, if any. But it sounds like a blast! Keep me in the loop! Your neighbor to the North (but not "The North" if ...

Marcus, I haven't had that problem yet. My mug warmer has two settings, low and high (go figure.) I usually keep it on high until I get a great lather going and then switch it to low to keep it just warm enough. If I did find it getting a little dry, nothing a spash of hot water from the tap won't f...

Hey Greg, I travel with my HD all the time. I do have a leather sheath/pouch for it that allows me to keep the blade in the razor. I purchased the pouch from classicshaving.com (it is under their travel section.) Works great for me and even fits my Futur so I can travel with it as well. Cheers, Mars...

I have used the Burts Bees and it is really good. I just got a tube of the Anthony Logistics Lip Balm and am anxious to give it a go. But try the Burts Bees, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
