Re: Long time

Thanks for the warm welcome back fella's. I can say right now, finding something I need to spend money on is the last thing I need right now. I will probably be a little more active for a while. I have always thought the company around here to be above average. =D>

Re: Long time

Wow, I just looked at my profile and I joined here in 2006, that means I haven't bought a razor blade since 07 or 08 at the latest. Guess I have to justify my expenditures somehow. Learned a lot here, and I know that my knowledge is outdated. Feathers are the ultimate for me, but I like the Israeli ...

Long time

I don't think I have posted anything in the last year or two. I stop by and lurk once in a while. I still see some names I recognize though. I just loaned a old krona and a boars hair brush with a puck of Williams to a co-worker with a Israeli persona and a Feather blade today. Told him to start wit...

Shaves from the HD were short lived & I tried a Progress before, but when I turned it up, I got major razor burn. I have a tough beard & never get the burn with my slant. The barberpole does give a touch more aggressive shave, but the gold std. is more attractive.

Thanks guys, life has changed since I posted more. Always respected the demeanor here. Plus I really changed my shaving habits. Spent more change on razors than I ever thought I would, but was able to trade or sell most to minimize loss. Tried almost every Merkur & a bunch of oldies before I set...

So I have not touched a can of shaving cream or a multi blade razor since 2006. I would say it's a safe bet I never will again. I settled on the slant barberpole several years ago & have a backup gold std slant I use once in a while. I finally moved to trumpers almond full time, & I want to ...

I remember something about the 4 blade incident too. Not very well though. Real men shave with Williams though

My day is delayed, they have enough health issues to deal with I guess. I go back in Jan. for the 2nd half of my physical.

I soak my puck for a minute with hot tap water. pour it off & load the brush, it makes as good of lather as anything else I've tried. Williams is my main soap. A shot of Proraso makes a great superlather.

I agree with 95% last post, (sorry I tried to quote it but don't know how). I also believe the answer to our problems as a nation all begin with individual behavior. Of which this website is a shining example of on the internet, regardless of your position on topics.

How would you feel about having your driving priviledges revoked & your car confiscated because some wackjob in Florida ran his car into a crowd & killed 12 people. Would you be as determined? Taking firearms from law abiding citizens does nothing to stop this kind of violence.

Roughness to my beard starts coming back faster before I detect pulling by the blades. When I notice my shaves aren't lasting as long I change blades, generally 5 to 8 shaves. I also use a small Altoid container for a sharps container.

I suppose this is something else they are going to hit me with here soon. I have seen the doctor more, & had more tests in the last month than I have had all together in the last 30 years. I have never had the prostate exam either.

Purchases

I was just reading some of the threads I have missed & I suddenly realized I don't think I have bought any shave related Items in about a year. I have a good stash of blades (10 years?), soaps for a couple years, spare brushes & razors. All narrowed down to my prefered shave. Being self empl...

Thank you all for your kind words. I had some discouragment at physical therapy yesterday. She explained to me the nerve that conducts hearing is the same nerve that affects balance/vertigo, so my condition of imbalance could be permanent also, that has never been presented to me before. The physica...
