Re: What are you reading?

The Litigators by John Grisham. Nice send-up of mass tort attorneys.

Most Grisham books are "check your brain at the door" types, but they make me feel better about being an attorney.

Just a curiosity question for those who are on the "buy only American" side of this discussion... Do you only buy American wet-shaving products? Jay, Yes, I do. Save for my brush and my razor (an Old Gillette, so maybe it was made in USA), I use USA-made products. Three pucks of Prairie C...

Pete, I completely agree. I do my best to try and buy things made in the USA. With some things it's relatively easy (cookware, etc.), but things like clothing are a lot harder. My fiancee completely agrees with me, and has let me be selective with our wedding registry, picking as many things made in...

WTB: Personna Hospital Blades

Hi Gents,

I was wondering if someone would be willing to sell me a single pack of the Personna Hospital Blades to try. I like the fact that they're made in the U.S., but I'm admittedly too lazy to pay shipping for one pack of blades from a retailer.

Thanks!

Let's see: I travel w/ my Rooney 3/1 Badger in its provided travel tube, a puck of Prairie Creations Lime EO soap, a travel bottle of witch hazel, 7 O'Clock Yellow Blades, my 1949 Superspeed, and some cologne (currently Floris Santal). I carry it all in a leather shaving kit ordered from North Star ...

Hi Roy,

If you're not interested in coughing up the dough for the Unscented AOS products (Which are good, btw), you can try unscented soap from Prairie Creations, a small company based in North Dakota.

Here is Krissy's website:

I'd suggest TOBS Avocado. That smells most like spring to me, mostly b/c it smells like cucumbers (to me).

WTB: Baie de Genievre sample

Hi Gents,

I know this is going to be tough, but I was wondering if anyone had a legit sample of Creed Baie de Genievre that I could purchase. I had a sample a while ago, but I am not sure if it was legit or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

I got a couple of Krissy's soaps, with and without lanolin, that I'll try soon. I got mine scented with orange essential oil, and they really smell nice. - Murray Murray, If you like her soap, you should get some unscented soap and scent it with Lime EO. I did that a few months ago and have been re...

Paddy, In New Orleans, there are two (that I know of) microbreweries. One is Abita, which is very prevalent in New Orleans, and the other is Crescent City, which is only served at its brewhouse, to the best of my knowledge. Both have decent selection and are far better than typical American horse pi...

Hey Gil - I have no experience with that, but have been using a homemade aftershave lately made up of Jojoba oil and liquid lanolin. I use two parts Jojoba to one part liquid lanolin and add some EO, which helps with scent as well as the face care qualities (for example, lavender and tea tree EO's ...
