I feel the Japanese style lends to a closer shave. Two shaves in and I'm getting the closest shaves I've ever had. It seems so much more precise than the folding style. It honestly feels like holding a scalpel versus a regular kitchen knife. It also feels like you can do a lot more damage with one ...

On the other hand, if you had not promoted it so heavily, I may not have had quite the "urge" to try it so quickly. So, I guess it's a wash.

Note: I'm still awaiting my order... :(

Yeah, but one guy took off the tip of his thumb, including the nail, trying to do a hanging hair test. Hanging hair test? Take a hair, touch/bump it against the freshly honed and stropped edge, and watch it cleanly pop in two. Some guys use HHT to determine whether their straight razor is sharp eno...

There's an old proverb I just made up, that goes:
he who tries do do three passes with a Feather AC on his first shave, learns a good lesson in patience.
Is that "patience" or "patients" (as in, being a patient)???

Clive, you'll know when you get the right lather. As soon as you start shaving you'll get the eureka moment. It will also feel like heaven when you brush it on your face.
And I though that was just water in my eyes; turns out, they were angels... :D

Gents, An image might clear this up: http://upload5.postimage.org/264862/Feather.jpg With this said, I have loaded mine both ways; I, too, find the "injection method" inconsistent, at best. I typically, squeeze open the jaws, insert the blade, lightly tap the razor head on the sink/shelf t...

Since the thread has turned philosophical might I suggest that we draw across it that invention of John Rawls that is so delightfully useful, the veil of ignorance ? Therefore we shall have to assume, if we do it properly, that we are shaver going on his travels, but we don't know anything about sk...

I have found that, because of the sharpness of the Feather Blades, and the re...
