You did the right thing, Gary. As far as I'm concerned, I'm already using the best Gillette ever had to offer. I'm consistently getting the closest shaves of my life and enjoying every minute of it! Like Gordon, I stopped experimenting with the M3. Did I get a good shave? Yes I did, but it was'nt a ...

Lustray Menthol is my favorite aftershave; similar to Mennen Skin Bracer (old) but a stronger scent and heavier on the menthol. I agree with KAV; Alt Innsbruck is very unique ,and a runner-up for my favorite .

Gil, you won't lessen the cooling effect with warm water. For me, the menthol does'nt really kick in until I re-lather for the second pass. When you're done shaving, I do recommend a cold water rinse for the full effect. Of course, if you want to go all-out, a small bowl of ice water followed by a m...

Thanks Mike and to all the other gentlemen for their well-wishes. I have to admit that this brush is a bit of a challenge to master, so everyday I tweak a little here and there, and the results are impressive. I can't get over how much lather this thing generates and holds! Buzz made a good point re...

First off, congrats Gil on a great looking brush! Your comment on the knot design is interesting; I would think that the additional backbone would be welcome, especially since your using this brush for soaps.

Thanks Gordon, I thought Buzz was messing with me, but it's good to have it confirmed! Seriously, I love the brush; it's going to take a little getting used to as far as the amount of water it holds. That's ok, it's going to be fun experimenting with ratios and technique. My lather yesterday was a l...

I think the other interesting thing about this thread is that it illustrates just how deeply the loss of Coates cuts into the psyche of those members who regularly used it. It is understandable that news of a revival is greeted with a certain amount of too-good-to-be-true skepticism. I have only use...

Congrats on your purchase, shave in good health. I am in deepest envy =P~ Thanks TOny, it was worth the wait! I know carrying on after just one shave might be a little overboard, but this brush really was lights-out this morning! Clive, I appreciate it; if this brush is anything like my last one, i...

Thanks for the congrats Buzz. As for Gordon, well, that's disturbing! I mean, why would he encourage me the way he did? Unless.........you're implying that there are TWO Gordons? No, sounds too fantastic to be true....Gordon and Anti- Gordon? Aw, c'mon......still, 21,800 posts (and counting) is an a...

Sam, Cathy could'nt put a date on when the site would be up, but she did make it sound like it would be very soon. As far as the free shipping, I was very happy with that! All of the samples was a very nice touch. I agree that their business should pick up substantially with a website; they know how...

A Word About Colonial Drug

I have nothing but praise for this fine establishment! I dealt with Cathy, who is truly a Lady of High Order. She is very personable and her product knowledge is impressive! She was also very patient with me while I made up my mind about the Plisson, never felt any pressure. In fact, Cathy reserved ...

Finest I've Ever Used!

My Plisson HMW 14 arrived yesterday! It is beautiful!! I was pleasantly surprised at the heft of the handle, and overjoyed at the size of the brush! After a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning, it was time to see what this brush could do. I used a sample of Castle Forbes lavender cream that C...
