Re: Heads Up! TOBS Cedarwood shaving cream

That's awesome, I haven't seen a new cream in their lineup since the grapefruit, which was an awesome one for me.

Re: Monotony vs. variety in soaps and creams

I've been DE shaving for 10 years now, and when I first got into it I was all about the variety. I would visit the forums and really got into it. Then after about 4 years or so I just started using the creams that I owned because I bought probably 40 or so. At that point I realized that I should pro...

you're going to love the euro Palmolive, that stuff is up there near the top in my book, much better than the US stuff.

the funny thing is that when i first tried proraso in SF i hated it. a year later when i moved to salt lake city and during the winter for that matter, i learned to love it. something about the cool feeling in the winter was awesome and my face enjoyed it. during the summer it's not as hot but durin...

i've tried it before but i didn't care for the smell and the after feeling of heaviness was too much. of course this is coming from someone who never puts any aftershave on or moisturizer of any kind, so maybe i'm a loner on this.

i've been having a five month shaving affair with the good ol bic disposables. at first i like the sensitives over the metals but now i've settled into the metals quite nicely. i suppose in a few months when my supply drops down i'll switch back to my DE, but things are just running so well with thi...

i've settled on a razor that i really like and a brush and cream combo. the cream seems to be the only thing that i switch up with regularity, though i have plenty of other creams, blades, and handles, for now i've settled into one that i like. i assume that eventually i'll change things up like i h...

i've never washed my face prior to shaving and ever since switching to a swirling motion on my face with my brush rather than a painting motion, i've been getting great shaves doing this. most of the creams that i use seem to do enough of a cleaning job that i don't feel it necessary to wash my face...

i went to my sisters house for the weekend and just didn't shave at all because i didn't want to lug around anything extra so needless to say monday morning was a great shave in the waiting.

it sure is nice to have all the equipment around to get a proper shave.

when you switch over to DE shaving you should be able to get rid of that five oclock shadow, especially if you do multiple pass shaving. the key is to be thorough and light in touch and you'll eventually get it all.

I usually try to keep a mental note but if i forget and think that maybe I've had too many shaves with the blade then I just toss it, I don't wait for the razor burn.

i've tried the metals and the originals and i prefer the originals slightly over the metals believe it or not. and the originals are really easy to get ahold of. i'm going to try the sensitives next and see what happens. i've read alot of bad reviews on the originals, but as long as you don't apply ...

tractor face... hehe, now i know what to call it. i experience the same thing with feather blades in almost every razor i've tried.. too used to the IP's. once i start using my feather supply i'll just have to plow through them all before i change so i can remember the technique.

For me, creams seem to dry out my face less than soaps do, even the soaps that have shea butter. It only matters in winter when the air is dry, but for me cream is definitely the best choice for winter shaving. And some creams tend to moisturize more than others, you'll just have to experiment to s...

it probably will take a few weeks before your face gets used to a blade. since you've been using an electric for so long.

don't go for broke for the first few weeks. a two pass shave should be sufficient. it'll get better over time.
