Re: Bay Rum Shaving Soap Release with 20% Off

Omar, thanks for the reply. I wasn't very clear in my statement. My problem with FO (fragrance oil) is that almost all forms of it burn my olfactory. My skin isn't sensitive to it, as far as I know (because I avoid it). Some soap producers state in their product descriptions that EO, FO, or a combin...

Re: Bay Rum Shaving Soap Release with 20% Off

I like the packaging, too! My challenge when buying any kind of shaving soap is the issue of scent. I have become very sensitive to fragrances, as result of which I look for products scented with EO (especially citrus - I'm not very fond of lavender). I see that your Lavender and Everest soaps say t...

Great review. Thanks!

I really like the Semogue 1305 boar already. I don't buy much in the way of shaving supplies anymore, but you have me tempted with this brush.

I remember Dave and his forum. I recall PMing him some suggestions on his use of Early Modern English and getting a good-natured response from him. :D

churchilllafemme/John

I just bought 50 Personna 74 blades from John. The package was sent out immediately and I just got them.

I've bought from John, a trusted seller, before and I won't hesitate to do it again in the future.

Re: Has anyone tried the Gillette 3?

Hm, I've got a Feather Neo with twin-blade cartridges and I think it's a very good razor for it's type. I don't use it more because I prefer the feel of a single blade.

Re: A Guessing Game

It seems people used to loosen the razor head slightly for a more aggressive shave. Maybe this made that a bit more practicable before the advent of truly adjustable razors.

Re: Do I need a boar brush?

Like Wendell, I really like the Semogue 1305 and its particular grade of boar. I have quite a few badger brushes (my favorite badgers are also Semogues) and a handful of synthetics. All work well for me, and all are unique unto themselves. I tried a horsehair brush, but I didn't like it. Mine pulled...

I bought some Personna Med Prep blades from Gary for a very good price. They were mailed promptly and I have have them in my possession. All went smoothly and it was a pleasure to do business with Gary.

Welcome to SMF, Z-2!

I like the Treet carbon blades, also, though I mainly shave with DE razors.

Re: Schick Injector Type L Variations

Wendell, that Type M Adjustable was a really good razor. I don't know if it was available when I started shaving, around 1967, but it would have been a better choice for me than the Type L. (I have an M Adjustable now, but I didn't know about it until I came to this forum.)

Re: That's not a big brush, THIS is a big brush.

Greetings Chris! I dearly miss the short-lived but truly wonderful Portra 25. (Insert heavy sigh here.) Buzz Buzz, I never even knew there was a Portra 25! I have never really fancied color negative film. I have long been a shooter of color positive/transparency/slide film. What I have always liked...
