Re: My Beloved Semogue 1305

Wendell, I extend to you my condolences. The 1305 is my favorite brush and I know you have really liked yours. Perhaps the main thing I have appreciated in this brush is the grade of boar bristle, as it is different from any other that I have experienced. Most others reminded me of straw, while this...

Re: Gillette Fatboy F-1 Restored (video)

Omar, that was impressive. I have never seen one of these razors disassembled, let alone undergo such a complete cleaning and replating.

When I started the video, I wasn't sure I wanted to watch such a long video, but it held my interest to the end. Good work!

ShadowsDad: "It's because it portrays all men as stereotypical a-holes. It portrays behavior that most men abhor, but it blames each and every one of us." Brian, I didn't make this generalization. However, if many do, it will be a major miscalculation of communication and effect by P&G/Gillette. Bi...

Re: Gillette Scores an own goal

I watched the ad twice, biased by Chris's statement of what he found obvious. Though I think it is somewhat open to interpretation and generalization, I did not see what the rest of you are seeing. I saw an ad highlighting issues that have been around for a long time, only recently demanding widespr...

Re: Review - AP Shave Co Brushes

Thanks for the review, Bill.

I have several synthetic shave brushes and I'm always interested to hear what else is out there, though I buy much less new shave equipment these days than I once did.

Re: Feather DER-A Adjustable Razor

I didn't realize that Connaught wouldn't be able to ship it to the USA. I haven't looked into how else to get it. I'd check eBay or Amazon first, or other shaving forums. It seems to me that I experienced this before with other Feather products (cartridge razors) from Connaught. It would appear tha...

Re: Feather DER-A Adjustable Razor

Interesting, Paul. I wonder if this is an update/replacement of their existing TTO razor (a relatively inexpensive razor to get one started in DE shaving).

That's the one, Paul, and I did get it from ebarbershop.com, some 12 years ago.

I thought they offered an adjustable one, also, but that could just be faulty memory.

Re: Occam's Razor

The Schick Type N is supposed to be milder than the L, so it's also worth a try. Yes, I think it's probably time to do just that, Paul. I also have a Type O clone that I got around the time I joined this forum. I never actually tried it out, either, though I believe I read from others, years ago, t...
