Re: Maybe I'll go to jail

Ed, you noted that you can apply for an exclusion, so I would do just that. It sounds to me like you have several good reasons.

It's hard to say what those making the decisions will do, as it will probably depend on how desperate they are for jurors.

Good luck!

Re: Plumbing!

Chris, I'm impressed that you are back home, processing film! Thankfully, it would appear that the chemicals only burned off what was on the outside of your head.

Hang in there. We're still rooting for you!

Re: Plumbing!

Chris, I'm glad to hear of encouraging outcomes and that you are comfortable, if still weak. I remember when our young friend, Justin Barbier (remember "Geaux Tigers"?) underwent two bone marrow transplants (BMTs). His mother posted to Caring Bridge daily, and I feared he wouldn't make it. It was a ...

Re: gillette platinum (swede) / new version ?

Personna 74s, in my opinion the best blades ever made let me take guess.....winning the powerball lottery is easier than finding a supply of the 74's?  clive Clive, last I looked, you could find them, but they were priced really high - more than I would be willing to pay. Fortunately, I ...

Re: gillette platinum (swede) / new version ?

Clive, that's the experience I have had with Personna 74s, in my opinion the best blades ever made. I have to pry the top off of the dispenser and peel each blade off.

Re: gillette platinum (swede) / new version ?

Sorry to hear about the Treets, Clive. It's hard to be sure what you actually got, as the company has used the name "Dura Sharp" for at least three different blades that I know of (two poor ones - one stainless and one carbon steel - before the good ones were issued). I have no idea what they have d...

Re: gillette platinum (swede) / new version ?

Gene, Treet has offered a number of carbon steel blades over time. The most famous are the "Black Beauties," which are simple carbon steel with a black finish, and the Dura Sharps, made of carbon steel with PTFE coating. Treet has offered other carbon steel blades and even other Dura Sharps, in the ...

Teiste, the word you were looking for for the material of the handle on the 830 is "acrylic."

(I recognized the word you used from the Spanish and Portuguese.)

Re: Sustainability

What about horsehair brushes? Ol' Seabiscuit makes a pretty good brush. The horse hair comes from normal grooming, and does not harm the animal. Horse hair is also not derived from petroleum products. Those wanting a premium brush can buy a High Mountain White Horsehair brush. They are made from a ...

Re: gillette platinum (swede) / new version ?

Clive, the packaging of your Dura Sharps from Amazon is new and different from before. Treet has marketed at least three different blades that I know of under the Dura Sharp name. The PTFE-coated carbon steel version is exceptional and it costs significantly less than comparable stainless blades. Th...

Re: Video : Semogue 830 Hereditas and Galahad C3 boar brushes

Thanks for another great review video, Teiste! My understanding has always been that the Semogue 1305 and the 830 brushes were the only two made with that particular grade/quality of boar bristle, which I always found unique and superior to any other, and that the 830 was advertised as having a dens...

Re: gillette platinum (swede) / new version ?

Hi Clive - I don't know about the Gillettes in question, but I am a big fan of Treet Dura Sharps (yellow box with red lettering, right?). Some shavers, like myself, really like these Treets (carbon steel with PTFE/Teflon coating), and some don't. I find them sharp and smooth, though they might not l...
