My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes........... Ronald Reagan

Love that one.

There are some really nice crossbows in local stores, some of which cost more than midst firearms.... Chris, I'm curious how long it typically took your father to make a bow, as I've a stave of yew and a couple cow horn tips, that have been in my possession a few years now whilst I build the nerve t...

To paraphrase a great mind from the last century, "Four legs good, two legs bad..." John P. How do you make an American students head explode? Tell him Orwell was to the left of Stalin. And conversely Stalin was only slightly to the right of Hitler. That's all a mixed bag in my opinion, n...

I'm running cyanogenmod on my phone, like it quite a bit. IPhones are ok, but I agree with the "end user"comment. They work, but you get very little control over what you can do with it. It's almost as if you do not own the phone at all and are leasing it from Apple. They are all the same,...

Linas, Don't forget to have fun in Florida, not just shop for shaving items! That said, you have several good suggestions already; mostly go into a store, see what they have and give it a shot. Traditional scents (to me) in the US would include the ones you have, and Old Spice (original-it's been re...

I have a couple Friodurs lying around, and if it says anything, when I needed to part with some razors, I sold some near mint satinedges and kept the Friodurs. I'm just partial to them I guess; as the 'ducks were nice as well. I have an Eicker that I have similar affinity for, also inox. If there ar...

Almost everything people own these days is made in some part, of petroleum. I wonder how people will like their new wooden iPods, when plastic is hard to get... Something seems odd about all of this to me, but ah well. I think everything is going to get even more interesting before everything is sai...

The logo sure does look a lot like the logo for Muhle-Pinsel. I'm surprised there haven't been any problems with confusion. A lot of companies have complained about lesser similiarities than this one. I wonder the same thing, or more specifically if VDH has possibly bought Muhle-Pinsel or vice vers...

Sorry, seriously couldn't resist. Did a quick look up of them, apparently they are not related to the Walther firearms manufacturer, as they filed for a trademark in 1987, and later filed section 8 in 1994. The firearms manufacturer of the same name is much older and is still in good shape. Feel fre...

Chris, you are obviously mistaken. It is quite plain from the photograph that the "bottom" raccoon in the picture is possessed by supernatural powers. This is evidenced by its soulless glowing eyes. The top raccoon is no doubt an exorcist of the animal world. Sit back and be amazed, my fri...

I don't have a Merkur classic so I could be wrong, but if everything else is the same, your suspicions are probably correct. My bet is the Merkur is a little thicker on top making for a more aggressive blade angle when you place the razor against the skin, especially compared to a super which is fai...

Sam, one more thing....I did end up doing one or two command line type things, but they are ridiculously easy...most of them you open the command line, cut and paste in what you need....and hit enter. And it works. However that sort of thing is minimal, and as subsequent versions keep coming out, th...

Sam, here is a link to popular Linux versions available free. I had Ubuntu on my laptop for quite awhile, and found it quite easy to use. I used OpenOffice for all my word processing, etc (compatible with word but free...) Give any of them a try (or there are other versions on the main page in the l...

Sam, Since your laptop is in the "nothing to lose" category, have you considered putting linux on it? Linux is free in almost all of its forms, is an OS that while not windows, does many of the same things (and again, did I mention, FREE?) if you have a friend with a computer they could bu...
