Feathers

Pauldog, a moderator here on the forums, sells them at a great price. I think he's the guy from Minnesota the previous poster was talking about. You may want to PM him.

I recently bought some from him, enough to last me a while.

Berkely Shave Selector

Gentlemen, I've recently won an ebay Buy It Now auction. Below is the link. I received it Friday and it's an interesting razor. Below is the link to the auction. Awesome seller by the way. I won the auction on the 6th and had it in my grubby little hands by the 8th! Berkeley Shave Selector I'm curio...

What I meant by incubator was just to have something with a controlled environment to work with. That way the results could really be compared. Lately we've had weather that's been kinda' wonky. One day it nice warm and humid, the next day it cold and cloudy. Our lab doesn't have very good climate c...

Ok, so the plastic may be ok. I have a Knack I've been wanting to sterilize that I can afford to experiment on. My backlite razors are another matter though. From my understanding, bakelite isn't necessarily plastic. I read somewhere that bakelite can be resin with either wood pulp, sawdust or asbes...

Ok, so no to UV . . .

I'm not a biologist, but I do work with them. I'm an alpha-geek stuck in a mycological research lab as an analytical supervisor and a research assistant! I do have access to an autoclave. I had already figured that sticking a brush in there would probably obliterate it, hence the question of UV. It'...

UV Light sterilization

I have access to a UV hood that is rarely used. I didn't want to double post on both the brush section and the razor section, so I figured this was a happy medium. I don't see any problem with exposing a razor under the UV light, but what about a shave brush? Could it possibly damage the bristles/ha...

Schick Stick?

Schick Stick

I've been looking for a new Hydro-Magic Schick with a triangular head for a while and I came upon this item. Is this a limited item or is it what I think it is, a hack of one of those Lady Schicks?

Pauldog, how did you like that 'Japanese' injector? I had a real nice one from what looked like a late sixties model (wild guess) with a stainless head. It was easily one of the better razors to use when in a hurry. I loved that thing. Alas, I left it in my backpack and my clepto granny snaked the w...

The head is a little pitted. Not too bad but I think it may cause some of the dragging. The blade I've been using has been a Feather so the shaves have been ok, but the process hasn't been smooth.

And I'll only be refinishing the top of the razor. Everything else with the razor is fine.

Gentlemen, I tried to be positive about the way this razor worked. I don't know. For now all I'm gonna say is that it's an ok razor. The way it's shaped doesn't do anything for the experience. I suspect that the reason I haven't been able to get a comfortable shave from it is the razor head. It's to...

Krect and my $0.02

I had my first shave with the Krect Spiral Razor this morning and I've gotta say, it's a much different shave from the Slant! First off, it's a lot lighter. But the weight didn't really throw me off so much as the flatness of the head. Compared to the Slant, the shaving head feels like it's only a b...

Scott, feel free to bid on it! I'm just waiting on that Krect razor to show up at my mailbox before I make another purchase. I usually like going to antique shops anyway to shop around. I promise I won't bid! GD p.s. I 've gotta watch it! I'm with the program, CCA (comicbook collectors anonymous). T...

Leslie Safety Razor

Here's an interesting razor that's currently on eBay. Checking it out, it looks like it could have been the Injectors precursor. There are still a few days to go, and I wouldn't use it. But I think I'm beginning to get RAD symptoms. Help me!! http://upload4.postimage.org/63646/Leslie3.jpg GD
