The new one has a light, sweet, pure lavender scent. The old one has a very intense fragrance-oil scent that was quite nice, but doesn't smell much like lavender to me. If you have ever smelled T&H lavender, it is quite similar to the the old Taylor stuff.

As mentioned, a lot of samples leave my bathroom for points around the world. I'll agree that the magnitude of the consistency changes with Trumper are less than Taylor, but they are there. I have had pots of coconut that are highly whipped, and others that were as dense as Castle Forbes. The Violet...

Gordon, I don't doubt your personal experiences, but in the past half year I have gone through more than a dozen tubs each of Trumper coconut and violet, and I have seen some big swings in consistency. Perhaps it is not to the magnitude of Taylor, but it is there nonetheless. Perhaps some of this is...

As someone who goes through a lot of tubs of cream, I can tell you it is a total crapshoot in terms of consistency. I haven't noticed much of a change in efficacy, though with really loose creams it can be hard to get the proper amount if you are used to the dense stuff. And for those who think this...

I have spoken with them, and GP has stopped offering the balm. There is no stock left, unfortunately.

Another one bites the dust....

BTW, they declined to elaborate on their decision, but it isn't rocket-science. The real question is whether the (excellent) shave cream will survive long term.

I feel obligated to respond to John's post. I will simply state that John was not banned from B&B, so this is a mis-statement. He posted a deliberately controversial and antagonistic post, and got the results he wanted. After the moderators reviewed the past several months of his postings, it wa...

The GP is the old formulation, and does indeed have a light cucumber scent. I actually prefer it to the Harris. I don't know whether GP intends to change the formulation in the future.

I have samples of the GP milk if you want to try it. Take a look in the Shaving Mall at B&B

Just a shout out to Lee from Leesrazors.com. I got this brush third hand, through Chris, and it developed a crack after the first wetting. After some consultation with Lee, he offered to replace the brush since it was sourced through him originally. Kudos to Lee's customer service!

The thought of that ball rolling over my skin and depositing stuff back into the container is gross. I eschew them.

The Green Pond is still the old Harris formulation. I am not sure if they plan in the future to migrate to the new stuff, but I certainly hope not.

I find the difference between the old and new Mr. Taylor to be the most subtle change of all of them. This is not my favorite scent in a cream (though I love the cologne), but at least the scent is fairly consistent from new to old. As for whether it is less scented than the old, I find that hard to...

I have decants of it (and many others) if you don't want a whole bottle:

Penhaligon's has recently raised their prices, and it is now very expensive juice indeed.

Creed is more of a "name" thing, IMO. I have tried a few recently, and found them extremely fleeting. This is a letdown for a very expensive fragrance. The Creed "house-note" to me is that powdery/musky ambergris note that they all seem to wind up like after a few minutes of uniq...

I have interviewed hundreds of people over the years. The number one thing that you can do is show enthusiasm. You would be surprised how many people come across totally lifeless at their interviews. A feeling that you are excited about the opportunity can overcome other imperfections in your resume.
