Re: Apple watch
I have an Apple Watch 4 and when I was able to use it at the gym I did. The smaller watch is definitely small and too small for me. My wrists aren’t all that big but I have a Catalyst watch band which is highly protective but adds a lot of bulk to the watch. It’s not a smart watch band. I like the f...

Re: Watches, watches, watches (caution: modem burner)
I bought some lum-tec watches. I looked them up and a few have increased in value but not by much. I will try to sell these soon. I don't need the money but right now they're just taking up space. The Abyss 400m-2 looks the coolest to me. I use an Apple Watch now anyways. I put it in a Catalyst watc...

Re: Blackstone grill
There’s a new griddle that fits on top of the eyes of a stovetop I forget the name of it. I considered buying one but they are heavy and there’s the issue of the removing it because you can’t really cook pots on top of it. They sell a half’s size model thst covers two eyes but I think you need to us...

Re: Undershirts / Tshirts
I wear different brands of "sweat block" style t-shirts. They have padding under the armpits and work like a charm. The heather gray / off white colors do not show through dress shirts. These types of shirts have been a game changer for me. The only drawback is the price... they're not exa...

Re: Plumbing!
Plumbing.jpeg This is how I get daily blood tests and infusions. The tube travels under the skin, loops over the collar bone and dives down the internal jugular to just above the heart. Wishing you well. I have something similar. I’m on a one week on two weeks off cycle. They use my port for CT sca...

Re: Deodorant
I use a deodorant stone. I need to wipe it under each armpit for about a minute and afterwards it works like a charm. No odor whatsoever for the day and sometimes it lasts until the next morning or longer. I think the "alum" in the stone is different than the aluminum that's used in antipe...

Re: Caswell-Massey Shaving Cream
The last time I tried a Caswell-Massey shaving cream was over 10 years ago. If I recall it was sort of a "whipped" type of shaving cream and I didn't care for it. I remember way back when a lot of the traditional men's toiletries companies switched to from firmer to lighter shaving creams....

Re: COVID survivors
I’m honestly terrified of it. I started a new chemotherapy treatment regimen. I basically stay indoors, get groceries delivered, and take medical transport to all of my appointments.
I might pick up certain prescriptions but outside of that and the above I avoid everything and everyone.

Re: New hobby: drone flying and video creation
Nice videos! I had a couple of small to tiny quadcopters but I gave them to my friend's son after a move. My new place has sprinkler heads throughout and it would be a disaster if one of the quads hit one of them. I lived in DC for over twenty years and owned a few that I could fly outdoors. Unfortu...

The Truefitt & Hill Almond Shave Cream is discontinued too. I picked up a few tubs of it because I like the scent.

Re: Face masks
I wear a mask outdoors and obviously at stores. To be honest I am doing my best to avoid others as much as I can. I went through my fifth experience with a rare form of cancer in December. I was experiencing arm pain and scheduled an appointment with my orthopedic oncologist. She took one look at my...

Re: Does anybody miss the old days and getting a barber Shop Shave?
I searched through some old posts and found a few from October 2005. AAJC and I met at a barbershop that was located in a famous former hotel in Richmond, VA. I think that was my second barbershop shave. The old days.... I'd have to double check the post but I'm pretty sure I was hacked up a bit at ...

Re: Your best concert experience
Back around 1990-1991 when I was in college I went to one of the best concerts I'd ever experienced. Members of The Specials and The Beat (or the English Beat as they were known here in the USA) toured as The Special Beat. It was amazing and loads of fun. I actually just found a video of the group p...

Currently reading 3 books.
The Pioneers by David McCullough
Elevation by Stephen King (I'll finish that today, it's a short book and I put it down for a day or two).

I have a Kriega but it’s probably not your style. I don’t ride a motorcycle but I wanted a dry pack. I have the 100% waterproof
Version.
They also make the Kriega Urban EDC Messenger bag. I haven’t read much about that one but it looks cool to me.

Re: Kitchen knives
I sharpened two knives with the Trizor XV. The first knife was a Cuisinart chef's knife that I won for something or another at a grocery store. It's a very cheap knife and I used it for everything. I don't particularly like it primarily because of the the way it feels in my hand. I did my best to ge...

Funny that this thread popped up. I'm actually headed out today to pick up a Trizor XV sharpener.
Looking forward to getting my knives back in good shape on my own.
