The best part is that on the pump bottle the pump opening is no longer so small that the cream dries in it and sprays everywhere the next time you use it.

Technically "Wet Shaving" is simply shaving with water and soap/cream instead of canned stuff.

You dont even need a DE razor to Wet Shave. But you do need a brush and soap/cream.

If you have to go through all this for a product, why not just buy the good stuff and make a great lather out of the box? I am all for tinkering, but to get a product to work, I think should be built into the product, tinker with the lather it produces, not how to get it to create a lather. I'm sor...

Re: Williams Mug Soap lather?

Hi, for people that use Williams mug shaving soaps, could you post a picture of your lather? I don't think mine is up to par and I want to see if it's perhaps my brush (cheap drugstore one) Here is a link to my topic at B&B about Williams, scroll down to see pics. Remember, this is what my brus...

put a few tablespoons of water on top of it and let it suck up the water overnight.

I do this with Williams soap, i pour enough water to cover the entire puck, and let it sit overnight. Most, if not all, of the water is soaked into the soap by the next day.

stiffer brushes work better with Williams than soft floppy badger brushes, at least in my experience. the VDH or Burma Shave brushes i find are the best. My Omega boar brush doesnt cut it since the soap gets pushed up into the very top of the bristles and the lather comes out dry and airy. Burma sha...

My first brush was a C&E Best (fan), second was Shavemac (bulb)

The big difference i could see right away is that the bulb brush has a lot of difficulty lathering in a wide bowl, i lather easy in a wide bowl with my fan brush.

If you get a bulb brush, find a narrow shaving mug.

Lather up some shampoo and water with your brush while your in the shower, then rinse off the shampoo and use some conditoner on the brush, rinse off at the end of the shower, and you should be ready to go. Borax is used more for when you've had the brush a while, and you want to make sure no mold/f...

Drop the Proraso and get some good cream, like KMF, Trufit and hill, Taylors, Toms of Maine, ect. ect. ect.

I started off with Proraso, and after using many different soaps and creams, Proraso cream is rarely put into the rotation anymore.

do you have hard water? I have very hard water, and ive been noticing this in my C&E best badger brush. My hypothesis is that when the water evaporates off of the hairs, it leaves the minerals, calcium, and crust. Then the next time you go to use it, the crust prevents the tips from flexing, and...
