Proraso is cold, this stuff is absolutely frigid. The coldness of Permafrost compared to Proraso is 1000% more.

First use of Permafrost

I read about this shaving cream and was curious enough to but some and try it. I took a hot shower to prepare my face and mixed up some Permafrost in a recently purchased scuttle. Round 1 I put the cream on my face and at first it was warm. I thought to myself - what's the big deal? Then, after abou...

Getting the cream onto the brush - dunk or scoop?

I would guess that this has been asked before, but, humor me. I use creams to shave with like Trumpers, Nancy Boy or TBS. How do most of you get the cream on the wet brush? I usually dunk the damp brush into the cream and swirl it around a few times, then make the lather in a large cup. Does anyone ...

I have been wet shaving now for only about 2-3 months. I have three razors that I rotate through: a Merkur Futura, a Merkur Slant Bar and an old adjustable from my college days (a long time ago). I use a Vulfix brush and the current soaps/creams I have been using are: Trumper Limes - really like it ...

How many times have I used that blade?

I know that I can get about 3 shaves from an Israeli blade. I have a couple of different D/E razors that I am using. The problem is, I don't always remember how many times I have used a blade with a particular D/E. Does anyone have a nifty way of remembering? Short of replacing all the blades every ...

What I was really trying to get at was a recommendation for a cream/soap that would significantly reduce drag so that I could avoid razor burn. This occurs every so often on thge my neck. Notwithstanding my shaving technique, I was also hoping to get some suggestions on what to put on my burn to all...

What is the most slippery cream/soap around?

I have been wet shaving now for a couple of months and have used: 1. Proraso (Green Tube) 2. Trumper's Limes 3. Tabac 4. Kiss My Face 5. Nancyboy (1st time last night) I found all of them (maybe not Kiss my face so much) gave me a very close shave. I suppose that they are all "slippery" to...

Looks like I haven't shaved

I have been wet shaving now for a couple of months. The shaves that I have been getting are closer than I had ever gotten with my "4 blade" and with fewer cuts and irritation. I shaved this morning and , as usual, got a very close shave. I felt no stubble at all. My wife takes a look at me...
