Re: Well, trip to the Internist for yearly physical and...

Brian, I do love bread. Or as my wife says, bread is the delivery tool to get more butter into my mouth. I go to an Italian restaurant that serves fresh bread and that Italian oil/butter stuff, and I ask for real butter. Four or five pieces later. Oh, and then the dessert. But I am enjoying reading ...

Re: Sharpening Kitchen Knives

I have but two, what I would call chef-quality, knives. I have used the Spyderco blade system that has a ceramic stone and done that twice to the knives, but I also have a rod that I use after each cutting, and then I wipe the blade down

Re: Well, trip to the Internist for yearly physical and...

Thanks Clive. I have noticed that the pants are not as tight in the waist. The weight has come off slowly, and I have not followed a diet, per se, as much as watching the amount of food. I mean, I could eat a Big Mac and fries and go get a cheeseburger at lunch and then at night, a steak dinner or b...

No by all means continue on with the keto. I’m enjoying reading. At this point I have not given up carbs or white bread or pasta or rice. What I try to do is look at the total calories that are coming into my body from whatever source. So if I go to McDonald’s and have a cheeseburger and that means ...

Re: Well, trip to the Internist for yearly physical and...

Thank you for the book referrals. On the elliptical, I am getting more than 75 % of my heartrate number (220 minus 60 and then 75% is 120). Sometimes I average almost 130.

Well, trip to the Internist for yearly physical and...

According to BMI, I am obese. I told him I wanted to go back to being fat, lol. Just a little bit bigger around the belly. So I downloaded the MYFITNESSPAl app and log all of my food in. Amazed at what it shows as far as calories, sodium, cholesterol. If daily intake is to be 2000 calories, I set it...

Ive been wearing Tom Ford Grey Vetiver eau de parfum and Guelain L'Eau Boisee this summer

Got a bottle of Comme des Garcon 2 Man. Love that stuff

Wish I could smell Creed Aventus, or Hermes Terre d'Hemes parfum on me. Maybe for two hours, but then, no dice.

Re: Weedeater

I almost got the Echo. The Ryobi also had an easy load system but not as heralded as the Echo. I'd have gotten Echon if I edged more than twice a month

BTW Lowe's had their combo 24 volt blower and trimmer battery operated machines for $129. When I tried it out it was $50 more

Re: Folding chair for outdoor concerts, beach activities

Went and tried some at REI. They have a store brand that is extra wide, $59.50, good option. The cheap ones we have, it is like sitting vertically in it, though it has armrests. Uncomfortable after an hour. I am liking the GCI Pod Rocking chair ($55), but wonder if a pod-style would be good for thre...

Folding chair for outdoor concerts, beach activities

Well, one of those cheaper mesh chairs, the arm rest wont stay up. Rubber grommet gone. Going to be attending outdoor concerts and need new portable, folding chairs. Academy Sports had a good collection, so did REI. Some without armrests would be tiring. Saw a zero gravity lounger, could also be goo...

Re: Bluetooth speaker for a beach vacation

Just happened to glance at the speakers at Costco and rep told me that they had a model from last year on clearance, $39, and it was the Boom Remix, which is a UE renamed model for Costco of the Boom 2. Great speaker and I grabbed it, as the UE WOnderboom would have been $61 or more and the sound no...

Re: Bluetooth speaker for a beach vacation

Yea, UE Megaboom, Wonderboom or the Flip 4 or maybe Charge 3 by JBL Amazon had some bigger units and even at a cheaper price, but I am thinking these 4, especially the first 3, I can easily take on an airplane if we go out of town to a beach I can go listen to them at Best Buy The Wonderboom is abou...

Re: Weedeater

Used a 24volt, 4amp battery Kobalt. Not enough power. Fine for cutting but edging, no way. Yes 40 volt or more would be minimum. Though most rated over 60 volts get lower ratings than 40 volt ones! Was looking at a Ryobi 25cc for $119 at Home Depot and the $199 Echo 225. They have a Stihl 56 and the...

Weedeater

Time for suggestions. My Black & Decker corded electric weed eater crapped out last night. I have about a 3/4 of an acre yard and I used a corded weed eater to trim around the sidewalk and the flower beds and the curb. Gas powered, the downside is the engine repairs are more expensive and then you h...

Bluetooth speaker for a beach vacation

Have a little speaker already, waterproof, a 67 rating on it, and it was not loud at all. In fact, propped it up against a beach shoe and you move more than 10 feet away and can barely hear it. It was a promo I got two years ago at Best Buy for $25 with a $25.00 gift certificate that they mailed me ...

Re: Amazing NBA finals game

When the Grizz traded Marc Gasol to the Raptors, that marked the beginning of a new regime change in Memphis. Word is that with the 2nd pick obtained in the draft lottery, the Grizz will go with Ja Morant and have him be an understudy to Conley, though Conley is only 31 and has 2 years left on a con...

Re: How's Everybody Doing?

I have cycled in and out of AD's. Hi, My name is Sam and I am a Shave-aholic. It has been 4 months since my last acquisition. Seriously, I have toyed with a straight razor again. This time for fun, not trying to achieve baby butt smooth. My new wife likes me with a closely cropped beard, so the neck...

Re: Zoysia

My yard this year is shot to dickents. Common Bermuda, the stuff for the rough, not the tight-knit stuff like some greens. Fescue takes over in February and it seeds up but starts to die out about late May. Bare spots where bermuda once was. Had a tree trimmer take up some limbs on trees to let in m...
