Re: Sudoku anyone?
I got hooked onto Crosswords while waiting in a bankruptcy trustee's meeting for hours. Someone handed out the USA Puzzle and pencils and well, I took the bait. Now I have the app on my computer and do it every day, even if out of town (and I get antsy enough that I bring my IPad on vacation and mak...

Re: In honour of our fearless leader
Clive, thank you for the reminder. When I finish typing, I intend to just pause everything for a minute and reflect on Chris, his kindness, his humor, and this journey he is on. I go back a long way with Chris and even Gordon, and having met Gordon, it would be a privilege to be able to meet up with...

Re: Caswell-Massey Shaving Cream
I too tried CM creams more than 10 years ago. Back then, everyone was on the bandwagon with Trumpers, Taylors and other long-time British creams and even Castle Forbes. CM and Crabtree and Evelyn kinda suffered in comparison. Then Art of Shaving hit and it was a copy almost of the Trumpers and the S...

Re: COVID survivors
I had gone back to my primary care physician on January 19 and he took a chest x-ray and wanted to compare it to the chest x-ray when I was admitted to the hospital on January 4. When he reviewed it with me he said it looked much worse than the chest x-ray when I went into the hospital. He put me on...

Re: Hoppin' John
I had never had oysters before , And while I was dating her, my wife took me on a trip to New Orleans. We were walking down the street and Acme oyster house was on the left and had a little bit of a line and Felix‘s was on the right and was old school and not as crowded. We decided on Felix‘s and fo...

Re: COVID survivors
Gene I too am sorry to hear about your friend. And that is what scares me because I never wanna think that my circumstances cannot get worse. I just had this congestion in my throat that just never seems to leave. I’ve never really had difficulty breathing, but when I get a cough I get it good and d...

Re: COVID survivors
Saw my primary care physician two days ago. He took an Xray of my chest. He compared it to the one when I was admitted to the hospital on 1-4-21. Says my lungs are worse off. Gave me a super high dose of azithromicin(?) which is the Zpack and then a broncho inhaler. That inhaler has muffled my cough...

Re: COVID survivors
What surprises me is how you can feel healthy and then you get this coronavirus and you just realize how lucky or blessed you are. I’ve been home from the hospital one week now and I am sleeping 18 hours a day. I get very lightheaded and I can get winded walking up and down the steps. I have an inve...

Re: COVID survivors
Brian. That shivering was the first sign along with the fever. Never could warm up. I’ve never really had difficulty breathing and my cough has been dry and without phlegm. Headaches a lot. Nausea gone but no big appetite. Chris I always though 94 was a good level. I have oxygen they sent me home wi...

COVID survivors
I am sorry I have not checked in for a while. On December 28 I tested positive for the coronavirus after I had a fever. For a while I thought that all I was doing was having a fever and feeling a little bit tired, but we got an oxygen reader and one time it went down to 89. I contacted my primary ca...

Re: Matching soaps & creams with most effective brush fibers
Following this thread. Maybe it has not been the soap but my brush. I have eschewed soaps and found I prefer creams but have been using only a synthetic brush - the tuxedo knot. Maybe need to consider a Rooney or Shavemac

Re: Moving back to Hard Soaps
I went in the opposite direction. I first used the English/British creams and fell in love. Then tried Joris soap, Trumpers, etc. Then the home-made stuff. The the Shave stick from QED which I loved. But I drifted back to creams and I have an artisanal soap that my daughter got me that, well, I had ...

Chris, I did not but I have also not spent anytime since the posting to go look at Shavemacs or what have you. Been too concerned with socks, lol. Messy family situation I have going with my mother and sister, in the Tampa area, and am flying down there this Sunday for a week. May have to testify at...
