Re: Milk Street Recipes ...?

Gonna try this guy. I get a lot of Tyler Florence recipes off the Food Network. I make a mean chicken piccata. Want to try a prime rib recipe. And a light cheesecake and a key lime pie.

Re: Kirks Bar Soap

Kirks lathered like no ones business. It was a tad drying. And the shower I guess made it dissolve faster. Lasted three weeks or so Reading up on Dr Bronner. I am using an Everyman Jack citrus scrub. Smells and works great. But i don’t like the scrubbing beads as much. Is Dr Bronner drying? I like t...

Re: Synthetic brush head

It was someone here who made it. The knot was sourced. Works fine so it is only aesthetic. I guess I mash hard when lathering and I swirl it on my face more than the paintbrush way

Re:

This is the soap that I have been using in the shower for some time. As Greg says, it is one of the easiest-lathering soaps I have found. I use Dr Bronner's liquid soaps a lot. (In fact they just came out with a citrus scent that it wonderful !) Nevertheless, I experience Kirk's as eaier-lathering ...

Re: Synthetic brush head

Mine does not return to what it looks like when it was new it seems to be more spread out and not as tight. You know how like your jeans are after you wash them and dry them they fit tight but during the day they spread out and are a little bit baggier

Synthetic brush head

Does anyone notice that their synthetic brush head does not go all the way back to tightly packed? Sometimes if it’s still soapy it will do it but I have used regular bar soap to try to clean it and this is how it looks

Re: Mardi Gras party

I went to a Mardi Gras parade once. Had a Pat O’Briens hurricane. Great price actually. Parade started late and wife asked me to go get refills. Because it was a longer walk I decided to go to a bar much closer. Bad call. Tasted nothing like the Pat O’s. There are reasons why places are known for a ...

Re: Your best concert experience

Well, when I go to concerts, usually mellow is not my vibe. I liked Leonard Cohen, but I did not want to sit in an ornate place and not be able to get up and move. However, Earth Wind and Fire rocked it. We have an old theater that is refurbished, the Orpheum, and it seats about 2000 maybe. EWF was ...

Re: Nascar 2020

Everytime I drive to Atlanta, from Memphis, I pass by Talledega. I think of Ricky Bobby. I want to go to a Nascar race. I have heard stories, and now with Uber or Lyft, I would be good to go, lol. I have even been by the Atlanta Raceway, which curiously is about 40 miles outside of Atlanta. My cousi...

Re: Kirks Castille, Yardley and Mitchell's Wool Fat

I tried to do a little experiment tonight. I washed my face first using the Kirks and felt my face and yes my face was dry, almost like moving your finger across the cheeks they would stop and you have to force them to go up your cheek. Then I washed my face with the old bar of Mitchell‘s Wool fat a...

Kirks Castille, Yardley and Mitchell's Wool Fat

Been using Mitchells Wool Fat to wash my face. The bar takes forever to use up. In like a year, not even half way finished. It was so creamy at first, a ecru color, but it is more white now and the lather is a bit thinner. Still good, just not as much lanolin goodness. Using a new Kirks in the showe...

Re: Dollar Shave Club and Manscaped

Chris, I do not doubt for one minute that the ubiquity of information or what passes for information on the Internet is driving all sorts of people to wonder what is normal anymore. It seems that everyone on Facebook seems to be having more fun, taking more vacations, has more 'friends' and now, eve...

Re: Screw bottom of a DE razor

Bought this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/174081278884

They had lined ones, octagon, rubber, chrome and knurl handles. This has a long handle. It might be good or it might be slippery

Re: Screw bottom of a DE razor

Sam, you could either buy another $20.00 razor, like the one you have, to last you for another couple of years, or you could get something more robust. I seriously doubt that a new $20.00 razor is repairable. If you liked an EJ in the past, I would recommend you get another one. I'm not sold on the...
