Re: Is SMF losing its vigour?

Gary take care of yourself. I am a solo also and I have to decompress. I need to recharge and to do that, I go out of town. Even like I did to go to Nashville for a day, three hour one-way trip. Took Wife to Nordstroms and we had a scrumptous Italian dinner. I am a solo too and those sort of cases, ...

Re: Leaf razor

I've had hair cutting razor combs that used half blades, and of course the various shavettes, but not seen anyone build a DIY three blade from them. There is still innovation out there. Let us know how facial use goes - it sounds like it could be very aggressive on thinner skin... C. Don't know tha...

Re: Leaf razor

Update: I was out of the US for two weeks and took my Harry's five-bladed razor and a cartridge. Got back and started using the Leaf razor and the one-bladed Twig. That combo shaved me closer with blades that had shaves on them better than the Harry's with a new cartridge did. THe leaf has a pivot h...

Re: Free AOS tallow shaving

The smell on this soap is alright by me. Just as I remember using sandalwood soaps and creams, though there was at least a five to seven year hiatus for me. Lathers wonderfully - better than the artisan soap I was gifted by a daughter that happened to work at a place that did 'natural' soaps, lotion...

Cappuccino

I am not much of a coffee drinker. When I get up first thing in the morning, I cannot drink coffee for some reason. I would be more likely to drink a Diet Coke then coffee. I get to the office and I have a Mr. Coffee automatic drip machine that I use Community coffee or Seattle’s Best. My son-in-law...

Re: Free AOS tallow shaving

I have used the art of shaving sandalwood puck that was paid forward in this thread, and I appreciate it. I just loaded it on top of another nondescript shaving soap I had in a mug. It lathers very well and the smell is as I remember it. Kind of reminds me of Trumper is in a way.

Head shaving, new blades

Been using the Leaf razor to shave my head. Three half-DE blades on a pivoting head. Well, today, put new blades in there and wow, really close. Like the best shave yet. Can definitely tell it is closer than say the Harry's 4=bladed cartridge razor. Touch up with the Thorn, the single-bladed sister ...

Re: Gordon or Bernards66

Gary, if I recall a post from long ago, and Dr. Chris might be able to recall as well, his nickname was a reference to his high school, and the year he graduated. Somewhere in New York City, I thought.

Re: Free AOS tallow shaving

I’ll take it. Out of shave soap and was looking around. Loved the aos sandalwood when I had it but it was a cream. Have not had a sandalwood cream in like ten years. Loaded up on lavender and then Trumper limes and rose creams

Re: Gordon or Bernards66

I had met Gordon a few years back, maybe 8 or 9 years at this point. We had an early dinner at a deli in the mall in Tampa near the airport, International Blvd or something like that. I had his phone number at one time. Sad that he stopped communicating.

Re: The General vs. DE razors

General seems to be out of stock and it was $115 fir the plates only. How does it compare to SE razors which use half of a DE blade? Like the Leaf Twig? I used a three bladed leaf razor on my head, and sometimes I shave with it. As I’m growing a beard, it’s a little bit tough to maneuver on the face...
