Thanks, Clive.

Rudy Vey makes a fine brush at a very decent price. The TGN two band knot is superb - firm backbone with zero scritch on the face.

Hi there, gents! I've been away from the forum for several months - personal life and work life have been very busy (all good stuff). Anyhooo, I've paired down my shave kit considerably , moving more into the realm of what this thread was originally about - fidelity. I have, believe it or not, sold ...

I don't post my shaves much anymore because they all pretty much look like this, except for some variation in brushes (only three variants though!). Just a regular boring/amazing shave.

I've been through the (self imposed) ringer with shave soaps. Tried almost all of them. Currently, I am only using creams - really only one cream (KMF unscented). But, although I've cleared out the den of soaps, the two I have been unable to sell/give away/toss are Speick shave stick and QED Cedarwo...

In general, medium sized knots tend to work best for me. Too small and it doesn't hold and release lather the way I like. Too big, and well, it's too big - uses up a lot of product, makes excess lather (for my two passes), and gets lather all over the place.

Chris Hope your nerve issue gets resolved soon... In regards to your question - Kiss My Face shave cream is fantastic. I've been using KMF unscented pretty much exclusively for over a month now. I just got sick of fragrances... Anyhow, KMF is available locally at supermarkets and is cheap. AND it wo...

I wouldn't recommend a Simpson 2 band because it's a crap shoot. I've owned about four of them and kept one, which is superb. The others were really scritchy and not worth the coin, IMO. I suggest for your consideration the underrated and under appreciated Commodore X2 in best, which has surfaced as...

I had a 620 a while back and really loved the handle design but the knot was too stiff for my face. Gave it a good go with extra latherings here and there over the course of about a month but the tips didn't seem to budge much. I would imagine if the tips do get soft it would be an excellent brush.
