Re: Legalize the worlds oldest profession Why?
Your argument seems to oversimplify the issue of legalizing prostitution by presenting a false choice between full legalization and the current problems associated with illegal activities. There are potential alternatives worth considering. Additionally, while you highlight the potential benefits, ...

Re: The Moss Scuttle in Winter
I wouldn’t be without my Moss Scuttle any time of year. Unfortunately it’s too heavy and bulky to take along when I travel overseas. My son gave me my first Moss Scuttle for my 65th birthday, eleven years ago; unfortunately, I dropped it just before Covid, but replaced it right away.

Re: Tabac After Shave and Eau De Toilette
I’ll continue to digress if I may. The TOBS Jermyn Street for Sensitive Skin shaving cream I have lists stearic acid second after aqua, as does The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe shaving cream, but they perform quite differently. The TOBS is very disappointing in that it is neither slick nor cushion...

Re: Tabac After Shave and Eau De Toilette
It happened in 2021, when the German factory that made soap for Maurer & Wirtz went out of business. Mantic posted a comparison of the two on his site: https://sharpologist.com/tabac-shave-soap-old-vs-new-formula/ and we discussed it here: https://forum.shavemyface.com/viewtopic.php?t=58001 I'v...

Re: Tabac After Shave and Eau De Toilette
I've liked Tabac since my teens, and I hope it sticks around. I know the soap is now tallow-free, but I've got lots in my stash! Chris I didn’t know Tabac had reformulated to tallow-free. When did this happen? How’s the new stuff? My soap stick performs beautifully, but i’ve had it for several years.

Tabac aftershave and soap stick are among my favourites. The scent is timeless and their performance is second to none.

Re: Cream versus Soap?
Over my +50 years of shaving I’ve preferred creams over soaps. I don’t have a heavy beard and my skin tends to be sensitive. I find creams provide more cushioning and are generally slicker than soaps. For years I used TOBS and Trumper creams, but in the last few years I’ve found them very disappoint...

Re: Coming home and seeing the changes after two years…
I live in Canada and I’ve noticed this too. For years I’ve found the shaving goods pickings in Shoppers and their ilk less than satisfactory, but since COVID-19 it has become decidedly slimmer and not just for shaving paraphernalia. A further problem with Shoppers is that each store doesn’t necessar...

Re: Kill Badgers to Save Hedgehogs
Chris, you mention coyotes becoming like London’s foxes. You may have read about the recent seven coyote attacks on humans in central Burlington, Ontario. Apparently a family of coyotes had become so inured to the presence of humans, likely due to people feeding them, that three of them randomly att...

Re: Kill Badgers to Save Hedgehogs
It comes down to what is sustainable for both badgers and hedge hogs. Badger are much maligned, much like wolves, but they are part of nature and have a role to play in our ecosystem, just as wolves do. Wolves are being re-introduced to many regions on North America because the balance of nature bec...

Re: Legalize the worlds oldest profession Why?
Calling it “the world’s oldest profession” says it all. I can’t think of a stronger reason to legalise and regulate it.

I like most lime aftershaves. My regulars are TOBS No.74 Victorian Lime and GFT West Indian Lime. Recently I came across Goodfella’s Royal Lime, which I particularly like because of the menthol it contains.

Re: Green tea
Good point Chris! Remember I'm the bloke that puts after shave balm in my hair! 🤪 I love my brewed green and I drink it every day. Maybe the brewing process leaves some of the beneficial nutrients behind in the wet tea leaves? I have no idea but I figure it can't hurt! Per Chris, perhaps you have g...

It’s Friday, which means it’s pizza tonight. As per usual I’ll have a Hawaiian, which will make your average Neopolitan cringe, and my wife will have a Fungi.

Canada qualified for the first time since 1986. With their new coach the team has made big strides, but they have their work cut out for them now.

Re: What's for supper?
Tonight we’re having friends for dinner, so we’re going whole hog: grilled beef tenderloin with a garlic, rosemary and peppercorn rub, accompanied by asparagus, wild rice and butternut squash. For starters it’s a smoked salmon salad and afters it’s cheese (Stilton and old English cheddar) and crack...
