Re: Amazing NBA finals game

Alas I fear the Raptors will succumb to the Bucks. I just hope it isn’t in 4. Yesterday’s game was very disappointing and suggests the Raptors may not have what it takes to go further.; similar to the Maple Laughs, sorry Leafs.

Re: Project House

When ever I see or hear about home reno projects I remember how good I am at writing cheques to contractors. I have never done anything decent beyond painting, and even then my ceiling / wall edges were at best atrocious. :( Good luck with all the work -- I am sure it will be phenomenal when done. ...

Re: On the subject of fidelity

I use a different brush and aftershave every day except when I travel. I don’t change shaving cream until I’ve finished the tube/tub. I use the same razor, a Mach3, every day except when travelling when I use a Sensor.

Re: Project House

Good on you for undertaking, and completing, so many tasks. We’re in the midst of major renovations at our house: new and larger kitchen, renovated the sunken family room by raising the floor and updating the fireplace, smartened up the dining room and updated the ground floor laundry room. As my wi...

Re: What is it about brushes?

I too am attracted to shaving brushes. At present I have 27 badgers, 3 boars and 4 synthetics. Obviously, badgers are my first love, but I have to say that a good boar is hard to beat. As yet I haven’t found a synthetic that satisfies me the way my badgers and boars do. In consequence synthetics are...

Re: Fountain Pens

PS How are you making out with the flooding in the Ottawa area? None of our family is affected (thank goodness). This is something that happens every year we have heavy snow or high amounts of freezing rain as the ground get over saturated (mostly clay in Ottawa), and can't hold the water so water ...

Re: Fountain Pens

Wendell, congratulations on taking up fountain pens again. I’ve been avid collector of vintage and modern fountain pens for many years. At the moment I have over 100 of the beasties; I don’t like to count them as this triggers an urge to calculate how much money I have tied up in them. My collection...

This morning I cracked a tub of re-formulated Body Shop Maca Root shaving cream. It’s as good as ever. One of the best deals available.

I love Hot Cross Buns and yours look delicious. I’m too unskilled and perhaps lazy to bake my own so I buy them from Cobbs Bakery.

This thread reminds me of an episode from March 1979 of Fawlty Towers (a John Cleese Classic), “Waldorf Salad”. Absolutely hilarious. So, where do you get your Waldorfs from?

Corned beef and cabbage! Yummy! I've been craving this for a long time and I enjoyed it very much.
One of my favourites, especially with boiled potatoes.

Re: New Rooney Finests

Thanks, those certainly are handsome brushes. Have you had any issues with the Finest knot? I have a 2/1 Finest and the centre of the knot is starting to hollow out. When I examine the centre of the knot I see that the hairs are breaking about halfway down their shafts. I don’t think I’m a particula...

Re: Music

I like listening to the radio, at home and in the car. Whilst shaving I sometimes listen to a music station 1950s-1970s rock) and sometimes to current affairs, depending on my mood. When driving I listen to music in the main; usually it’s jazz.
