Re: New fragrance from Trumper!!

I can’t understand GFT’s description let alone relate to it. Strikes me as gobbledegook. I like GFT products in general, but I won’t be rushing out to buy Paisley.

Re: Michelada

I’d not heard of Michelada until I read this thread. I looked up the recipe and it is very similar to a Calgary Red Eye. I make my CRE with clamato juice rather than tomato juice. It’s the only way I’ll drink North American beer (eg. Molson, Labatts, Bud, Coors, etc.), but I’m a dyed in the wool Guin...

Glad to see that Francesco Molinari won The Open Championship. He was the best man of the tournament.

I call it the Pack Rat Syndrome or the Magpie Syndrome. I suffer from it too: I can’t help being attracted by “shiny” objects. #-o

Re: The state of the current English Shaving soaps

The Mühle certainly looks identical in size and shape to the EJ puck I have. Mine is a few years old and still smells as good and lathers as well as the first day I broke open the box. EJ Sea Buckthorn is the only shaving soap I’ve truly come to terms with, but then I’m a dyed in the wool (never co...

Wendell, great to hear from you; it’s been awhile. Thanks Bryan -- nice to be posting. Not sure how much time I'll get here as I am between consulting gigs at the moment. I seem to get focused so much when I am with clients that I just don't have it in me to check SMF regularly. I’m glad to hear th...

So Bryan -- what does a natural gas grill and a DE and SE razor tell you about me?????
Hmmm, let’s see now...having your cake and eating it too? The possibilities are limitless.

Re: BBQ Grills and more specifically, Kamados

We have always had gas - and currently own a Weber Genesis with a direct line to our natural gas hookup from our home. Very economical, and much cleaner than a grill. Our oldest son does wondrous things with charcoal - smoking, slow cooking, the lot. We are fans of heavy-duty marinating and get goo...

Re: Face lathering and brush loading (soap)

I only face lather. When I use soap, which is very infrequently, I find I have the best results when I rub the cake directly on my face the same way as I use a soap stick. I’ve struggled to make good lather by loading my brush from the cake or by building lather on the cake, but rubbing the cake dir...

Re: Trumper Skye

Several years ago, when I visited Trumper’s Curzon Street shop, I sampled Skye aftershave, but for some reason(s), which escapes me now, I didn’t buy any; perhaps for the reasons cited by our resident quack. I bought a bottle of Wellington aftershave instead, which I quite like although the scent is...

This week we discovered a new (to us) episode of Endeavour on Masterpiece Theatre.
If it was the same one we watched last night on PBS Detroit Masterpiece, it was excellent, but the goriest Endeavour we’ve seen. I must add that we’ve yet to see an Endeavour we haven’t liked.

Watched the Iceland v. Argentina match. The Icelanders are a plucky lot (Viking blood perhaps) and they had a game plan which they executed wellI. I was pleased with the final result 1-1. =D>
