AoS Lavender Soap

I was introduced to wet shaving via the AoS products about 5 years ago. I started out using their soap, but I later converted to creams. I have long since moved beyond the AoS products, to Trumper, Coates, Taylor’s, etc. I never did like the AoS creams at all, but that’s another story… Yesterday whi...

Actually, there is no handle as such. These are handmade traditional gentlemans hairbrushes, made the same way for well over 100 years. See what a revlon looks like in a decade and compare it to mine, which will still be in excellent shape in 20 years. BTW, the Military Oval I use can be had for und...

One more note to add; the Romans 'shaved' by rubbing their beards with oummice stones until they were smooth. Ouch!

Aloe! Why haven't I thought of that before???? It's a natural. Is it the Naturade Aloe80 you use? The Wife & I keep 2 or 3 Aloe plants growing for cooking burns, etc; we just cut off a bit and put it on the burn.

Might I do this after shaving as well?

Cheers,
Craig

AoS Aftershave Balm & other sug.

Hello, I'm curious what some others think of these products. I've been using the AoS Unscented Balm for some years now with satisfaction. I was very displeased, hoever, with their Aftershave Gel, which I found greasy and not at all soothing. I just ordered Trumpers Skin Food & Moisterizer and am...

I use the Military Oval Quill http://www.shopattitudes.com/MC24.htm and love it. Plus it takes up less room in my travel bag than a regular brush with a handle.

Cheers,
Craig

I use the Kent Military Oval Quill brush and really like it. I've had it for 8 or 9 years. I keep it cleaned and it still looks like new.

You can see it here: http://www.shopattitudes.com/MC24.htm

I have been using the AOS shampoo for about 3 years now and love them. I have very straight, thick hair and consequently have to use several products to style it. The AOS shampoo really cleans out the gunk, and the conditioner leaves my scalp cool and refreshed, and my hair in great shape. The only ...

Ron, I was wondering the same thing; I wonder if he is bi-polar? I don’t mean this as a slam because it is a serious illness that relatives of mine have battles for years. As for me, I proudly profess myself a shavegeek! I have been wet shaving for 4 years now, I own at least 6 brushes and have more...

WOW! I just went to Ebay and snatched up a Schick Injector still in it's original package, unopened. It is a late '70/early '80's model, from Canada.

Anyone have any suggestions on a source for good blades?
Cheers,
Craig

Dear Gordon, Thank you for your reply. I have suspected for sometime the M3 might be overaggressive. I am going to pick up the Bic’s ASAP and give it a try. I think that part of the problem is that I am heavy and have a double chin. The ‘softer’ skin on my chin is where I invariably nick myself, on ...

I too cannot get an entirely smooth shave. I have a heavy dark beard that grows in 4-5 directions. Add to this that I have sensitive skin and it adds up to razor burn, cuts & nicks. This is the reason I took up wet shaving a few years ago. I started out with the AoS soaps, then Coates creams, Ta...

Re: Rose Water

Thanks for your reply Gents. I am curious to learn more about this. I am looking at my (empty) AoS Hydrosol Rose Water and my bottle of Cortas Rose Water. The ingredients in both state " Ingredients: Distilled Rose Water". Both also say: "Made in Lebanon". Can you tell me what th...

Rose Water

I have tried and enjoyed the Art of Shaving's Rose Water. I felt is was very soothing after shaving. I did not, however, like the price; $25.00/6oz. I was in a local grocery store that has a large international food department. They had several brands of rose water in both the Indian and Middle East...

I love Aqua di Parma in the summer (the original scent). It is a classy Itallian scent created in 1916 and favoured by John F. Kennedy, Cary Grant, Sean Connery and David Niven amongst others.

Hello, Boy, am I glad to have found this site and this topic in particular. I invested in a bottle of Trumpers Lime on my last trip to Manhattan. What a disappointment-a GREAT scent that instantly disappears! I just ordered a bottle of Royall Lyme (and at $17.99/4oz a good buy!). Can't wait to try i...
