That's OK with me; I like the quattro better than any other cartridge I've used (never used the new gillette 5 blade thing) so it was good for me, but it'll be easier for me if I don't bother with it; i just though since this forum has helped me a fair bit i'd mention it... well, at least i'm happy;...

Howdy, While I love my straights and DE they don't travel well and I can't afford a travel strop, therefore, alas, my travel razor is my old schick quattro. so much to my astonishment my local Albertson's is discontinuing stocking the ones that are white ('power' with coated blades that are claimed ...

The quick fix is to dissassemble each end and with a razor make a slight slit at each end of the round holes in the linen material. reassemble, press out boith components with the hands until flat and retighten. Once acclimated they seem to stay put well. On slightly later ones I slotted the linen ...

I like machines and care and maintenance of nice tools (like I imagine it would be satisfying to wax one's Aston Martin) and after using the feather, a couple of other disposable straight blades and four different real straights I have to say that the REAL (i.e. nondisposable) give a much better sha...

Strop treatments and "break-in"
Howdy, I just got a new Bergischer Lowe (sweet, thanks for the suggestions Chris et al) and a hanging strop for graduation and the leather is pretty stiff compared to my older Dovo russian leather strop. This strop is here: http://www.shavingshop.com/index.php?item=166&ret=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shavi...

Six blade cartridge razors is a sign of the coming apocalypse, as it says in the book of Schick: And lo, when the scourge of cartridge razors that containeth a number of blades exceeding five ascends from Hell shall fire rain upon the earth, and the faces of the heathens who shaveth with this Devil'...

Well, I'd say, given my extensive experience with bullshit products, that the vibrations are nothing other than a way to make it seem more high tech without it costing much more to manufacture. If you have a cartridge razor it is impracticable to alter the head to incorporate any moving parts driven...
